Hey, I have been in the animation/CGI industry for 3 years. I gotta say, your production quality is very clean and professional. The way you sequence your shots keeps me engaged and does a fine job of telling me the story and purpose of your design. Also your choice of music and low-volume sound effects match the video. Sound is one of the most important elements in videos. Keep up the great work!

The threaded puzzle seems pretty cool. I'm tempted to make one on my cnc lathe. The chuck at the end would make a neat desk toy but not too functional for much more than you showed unfortunately. Not rigid enough. But still well designed and a neat concept. These will go on my to print list for when I stop being so cheap and buy a printer instead of watching videos of people using theirs.

Nice looking vid, though your depth of field is pretty shallow, which leads to lots of out of focus shots. Try running a smaller aperture (F-stop). You might need more light, but it would help with the focus issues.

Hello there! At 4.27" you are showing cutting the legs of the stool with a japanese saw. What is the jig you are using for that? I use japanese saws as well but struggle to cut straight and square! Do you have a jog for it?

DO NOT use 3d printed parts for anything that operates at a high speed. That lathe chuck is fine for some slower things, But it's dangerous to use that.

I have half a bottle of whiskey in me and still know that the 4 jaw chuck is rediculous. In fact as a wood worker I wouldn't make a single one of these with my printer, they're all rediculous and blame KZbin for even recommending this to me

@@alpsalish honestly I bought mine because I had a project that I wanted to do and it was cheaper to buy one and print it myself instead of sending it to one of those rapid prototype sites. It's been the only use I've found for one
@alpsalish Жыл бұрын
@@ItsMeGiga I can see prototyping as one very valid use, but then the product has to become something else. Cool, and I hope you find something else to do with it.

I"m amazed by your GH skills... did You learned it all by yourself? Or maybe there is a source on web, where I can learn it? Can You share Your gh scripts? something simple... or maybe You should make a YT video out of it... ...please? ;)
@ussadesign2 жыл бұрын
I kinda learned it by myself from youtube videos but improved it a lot from my colleagues in architecture, I'm planning to make a video on how to make threads and bolts in gh, cause that's why I started to use grasshopper for my projects instead of rhino itself, later just started to script whole project in it cause was making a lot changes for just several millimeters and modeling it in rhino would take a lot of time although scripting at the beginning definitely takes longer than designing directly in rhino
@RafaDe2 жыл бұрын
@@ussadesign I'm an architect too, although i deal mostly with residential, so it's hard to develop skills when man have no practical needs for parametric design. I plan to learn it anyway, but so far I use rhino to create stuff for my camper. Can't wait for your video. 👍

Hmm those inserts are not meant to be used in this application. You need to use inserts meant to be used for 3d prints. The ones your have are for casting.
