In this episode of 23 Stories, Presented by Volkswagen, U.S. defender Tierna Davidson reminisces about her dreams of becoming an astronaut. While still harbors hopes of space travel one day, her upbringing on the Stanford campus watching multitudes of sporting events fueled her academic and soccer aspirations, and led to a spot on the World Cup Team as the squad's youngest player. Her current goals are decidedly based on terra firma, specifically the green soccer cathedrals of France that will host games of the 2019 Women's World Cup.

Got into Stanford on merit. Got onto the USWNT on merit. What a great contrast to the college admissions scandals of 2019. This is the way it should be. Best of luck in France from a '72 alum.

Now that was interesting. I didn’t know Tierna Davidson all that well. She’s an academic star as well as a smart soccer player. Having Kelley’s Jersey was a sweet touch. These girls are bonded together as a team. Good luck ladies! We are cheering for you!!❤️🇺🇸🔥⚽️

Great video. The little bit that I saw of Tierna on the field in the WC solidified my belief that she has a very bright future on the USWNT. I cannot wait to see what the future holds and I'll be rooting for this young woman for sure.
