Dude what is that forehand? I kind of love it.

I typically don't like commentary but I enjoyed listening to your thoughts on this match. I don't know but I feel like Mike is 5.0

@winterymint I'm sure he'll find his way back to 5.0 in time. While he's recovering and getting back into the swing of things, I'll gladly accept him as a 4.5. Plus, it means better practice for me.

@@mascovotti wow, a person who can actually use it. Evident by the plowthrough, very nice! Don't think I can ever use the RF, my peak weight was 163lbs. Need a personal trainer gain muscle in the right areas $$$, ah just have fun instead lol

@@advantagetennis3459 But yeah, definitely work on your serve.. start from the basics again. It looks like you are swiping sideways at the ball. You got the speed/agility for sure. Peace.

Is it a special tradition to play tennis with basketball shirts in USA?
@advantagetennis3459
@advantagetennis3459 Жыл бұрын
@Mert Ali Karadag Not quite a tradition. Though, I would say the impact of basketball on other sports and cultures is very significant in the USA. I played basketball for eight years myself.

guys like mike like the ball high so they can hit it down, thats why he was crushing ur serves. they also like running around the backhand on serves because theyre slower kicks and they have time. u have to really hit it to their backhand or maybe slice to their forehand... how do i know? i like slapping kick serves lol
@mascovotti

Agree with ya. (This is Mike). Any decent slice drives me crazy and I’ll get too impatient and go for too much nearly every time.

Love watching this. Great commentary. I think I hit 4 of the best drops I’ve ever hit and Andrew got to EVERY one of them. Never been called a serve-bot before. Ha!

I think with some adjustments to your tactics, you should win this! target backhand from the off every point, does not have to be low % shots, just high net clearance and top spin.

You are giving Mike all the short balls cause you are hitting from way far from the baseline. Mike dictated the court.
@advantagetennis3459
@advantagetennis3459 Жыл бұрын
@Slingshot You're not wrong. His serves had me backing up quite a bit. Most of his ground strokes I was taking at the baseline, I thought.

If you cant tell if a ball is in or out, you have to call it in. If you arent 100% sure that it is out, the ball is "in."

looks like you were giving him too much of the same serve to his forehand gotta switch it up and hit a slice either body or wide. Not letting him feel comfortable is a big thing vs 5.0 level players. Your improvement is crazzy tho keep it up love watching these Vids

@Luis Sanchez Thanks a lot! I don't have a slice serve, just a flat and a kick. I've thought about developing a slice. I think it would be a higher % serve compared to the flat serve.
@petershort936
@petershort936 Жыл бұрын
The problem isn’t not having a flat serve. It’s that you hit almost 90% of your serves, and groundstrokes, to his forehand. His backhand is weak but you kept hitting to his fh.

The comment I was looking for. He was killing it with the forehand and the backhand put very little pressure yet was almost never a target.
