this private mehfil was held in vancouver canada in 1977 at the residence of former pakistani play back singer salim raza (jaane baharan fame). salim raza migrated to canada in the 70's where he opened a music school in vancouver. he was a very good friend of khan sahib mehdi hassan..
Outstanding performance and the composition as well. This is indeed for the true music lovers. Thanks to all listen to it..

Glad to listen to this beautiful treat in the soulful voice of the great Mehdi Hassan Saab, all over again ; ofcourse in a different orientation altogether ! What a beautiful composition it was ! How soulful was the great Khan Saab in performing it ! What a wonderful feeling it has been ! I have enjoyed it thoroughly ! "Bahut Hi Chain Mila Sunkar !" It's always gratifying to listen to the great Mehdi Hassan Saab, while he was performing live, owing to his lively interaction with the audience and inimitable style of gayiki ! He had an uncanny ability to catch the imagination of the listeners, while performing, and carry them with the rhythm ! As ill luck would have it, I didn't see him performing live, during his lifetime ! That's the one and only regret in my life ! I will have to carry forward this unfulfilled wish to my next birth, had there been any ! Abdul Salam Saab deserves appreciation for his immaculate choice of uploads ! Look forward to listen to many more of the genre in the days to come !
