The alaap is Yaman and the gaats are Yamani. I suppose this is the correct way to describe it.

Why can't the sound engineer reduce the sound of tabla, when it's masking the fine, delicate nuances of the sitar ? To perceive this, you need a Pt Kumar Bose or Pt Anindyo Chatterjee. Last 10 minutes was donated to pyrotechnics and powerplay destroying the earlier sensitive UVK-like mahol. Is this to satisfy public taste, giving awkward claps? USP can lift us up, he shouldn't give up.
