It really does frustrate me when people who proclaim to be lovers of classical music start criticising maestros and start to make illegitimate comparisons between Hindu and Muslim musicians. I do not possess a great amount of classical music knowledge, but I do no for a fact that music does not subscribe to any particular religion or creed...TBC

The real truth is that the greatest masters of classical music were mostly Muslims like Ustad Salamat Ali Khan, Ustad Amir Khan sahab, Ustad Amjad Ali Khan sahab and the unforgettable Ustad Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan sahab and Ustad Bade Ghulam Ali Khan Sahab etc. If look at hindus we only know the names of Pandit Bhimsen Joshi, Lata Mangeshkar, Koushiki Chakraborty, Pandit Ravi Shankar etc.

No doubt muslim musicians contribution to the Indian classical is undeniable, but let’s not forget some of the non muslim maestros e.g. Pt. Vishnu Digambar Paluskar, Pt. Shankkarrao and his son Krishnarao Pandit, Pt. Omkarnath Thakur, Pt. Narayanrao Vyas, Pt. D.V. Paluskar, Kesarbai Kerkar, Pt. Bathkhande, Pt. Jasraj, Pt. Shivkumar Shankar, Pt. Hari Prasad Chaurasia, Sawai Gandharva, Gangubai Hangal to mention few..…..the list is long. Remember, music has no religion so just enjoy the good music and don’t divide it into Pakistani, Indian, muslim, hindu etc.

To all the haters about his style of tabla he is one of the greatest and will remain so. Someone likes it or not he created a completely different style of tabla which one can only dream of performing. All the amazing rhythm patterns in Pakistani songs and film music is because of him. When he speeds i would love to hear him recite his bols as well as playing. I am a tabla student for ten years and western drummer all my life. There is always a degree of separation from the hand and the mouth in tabla playing. Means very few players can recite exactly as they play and vice versa. The case is usually that players play faster than recite. I wonder what his speed of recitation is? Like or dislike is an opinion. Respect for his riyaz and god given talent though.

Ustad tafo khan speed is amazing look at the shot of the shoulders and his back when they do show it ull see a bulge that bulge is his back muscles fully developed which allows for that speed... all tabla players are aiming for that so that there speed can be immense....and pluz my ustad jee told me that these tihais of his are called Nokas.....meaning 9 times .....not like the regular three times

I don't know much what gharana he's playing, but looks like an experimental mix of Delhi and Lucknow. The technique is incredible, thumbs up for that little trick of two hands on the dayan on 2:05 to 2:07. Original and mind-blowing.

He plays dhere dhere in his every performance but with the changed position . To maintain the speed he has changed the position of The nikaaas . Ustad Shahbaz Hussain acknowledges him that " Tafo sahib ne mushkil bols ko Speed main Baja kr asani paida kr di hai " in some video he has played dhere dhere in original position but when he plays in speed he changes the position

Wash....Ustad Taffo Khan.....Zabardasssssstt The description is not correct....because the tabla starts in Ektaal and quickly goes into Dadra with Theme and then part Keharwa...theh little Jhap Taal....Dhrut Kai Rupak.... Teentaal in Dhruv Lei is mixed in between. It's anamalgam of various taals. Harmonium is in some sort of Lehra of some Raag. Beautifully performed by both Artists.
