The exceptionally high speed of tans ,with gamaks, played impeccably along with jhala ,was the beatity of the sitar playing of this genius player,Ustad Vilayet Khan Saheb, and his performance in this conference of sadarang Music, on Raga Basant Mukheri was a superb display of his brilliant technical skill . Really enjoyable for the listeners.

His melodious rendition is always a pleasure to the listeners . Technically he was probably the best of sitarists for all times as his playing comprised both right hand while playing Dra,or Diri Diri and left hand while playing meers and gamaks on gayaki style ,exceptionally melodious which was not an an easy task to perform with perfection. He developed his own style although he wss the son of legendary, sitarist Ustad Enayet Khan Sahab. He always played on teen tal and also played his jhala on 4. 4. 4. 4 format with exceptionally high speed. Nobody could be compared with him in this respect.

Why the tabla player is often not mentioned, remains a mystery.

The magic touch of string and the most important part that is study material is two sounds never overlapped each other. Most probably tabla played by pandit Kishan Maharaj with Ustad. Universal music we should preserve it, really research materials. It is our good fortune that these types of musicians belong to our country.
