Dear Santoshi Maharaj je first of all I would like to thank you for posting this extraordinary performance of Khan Sahib. I started watching and was glued to the TV until part 1 and 2 was finished. After the initial shock that the tape unfortunately is damaged for whatever reason my mind just blocked it and focused on what Khan Sahib was capable of doing I can't even describe. I am a long time listener and fan and fortunately friend of Khan Sahib, he simply sets the highest standard for player Sitar, the first one is the recording of Darbari and Bhairavi with Kishen Maharj ji when both were a lot younger and now is this. Khan Sahib is in a great mood and played from the heart "Dil sey". My only hope is that someone may have a better copy of this recording and hope he/she posts it in Vilayat Khan Sahib's Library for future generation to learn and enjoy. Thanks again!!!!!!!!!!!!

It is the magic of the great Aaftaab e Sitar, Sitar Nawaaz, Khan Saheb which is good enough for his admirers; everyrhing else lacks significance.

wow, has he tuned one of the upper strings to ni? sounds great!

For Puriya he used to tune the chikaris in ga and ni (because there is no pa). You'll need a thinner gauge because of the high tension.
