Incredible that he can speak so deeply and eloquently about this kind of transcending the excellence of the art of tabla, and articulate the living truth of the bond between the heart and the truth that the tabla has a spirit of its own that is given voice through a life surrendered to express this rhythm and music and his own love for it! He gives his own life to let it speak!

Naomi Stone: This is why even the great maestros bow down to the tabla or whatever instrument they are playing before they touch it. People think they are bowing to the instrument but it is not the instrument that they bow to but the spirit within. BTW, this is also applicable when one says "Namaste" to another person & it means I bow down to the spirit within you.
