After listening to your video I really wish to ask you a few questions. I am an assistant professor at USTM and a true Assamese by birth, upbringing and culture. My questions are : 1. How does it solve the problem of water logging in Guwahati if the students of USTM reappear for examinations while applying for Assam govt jobs? 2. Himanta Biswa Sarma says that the students of Dibrugarh University of Gauhati University suffer as the students from other states eat up their jobs. But if a student takes admission in USTM then does that person stop being an Assamese? Who will think about those students then? 3. In a previous interview CM said that no students and professors should be joining USTM, in such a scenario how CM has planned to settle the situation? Is he going to give all of us a job at any University or colleges of the Assam government? (Without interviews because it is his idea that we shouldn't be working there so definitely he should be arranging the alternatives for us). And what about the students? Will GU and DU have enough seats for them? 4. Many of our students from USTM are working under the state government of Assam. Many of them are civil servants too. Are they going to resign ? Because otherwise it will be unfair for the current batch of students. 5. Does a CM hold a higher order of authority than UGC or NAAC? I really enjoy watching your interviews and I truly believe that you shall be shining more in the near future. I really expect you to do proper research and get back to your audience with adequate answers. Thank you

Moreover, the Oxford, Cambridge are all private universities. It no way reduces the standard of learning. And about consuming opportunities of Assamese students, if a student is Assamese and studies at USTM then how does he / she become an outsider? The student remains an Assamese only. And CM of Assam should take the responsibility of that student too. It might be applicable for a resident of a different state that the person is asked to reappear for an exam but how is it logical to think that a student of Assam is eating up opportunities for Assamese students????

But ma'am don't you think, a student studying from Assam should not have advantage compared to Meghalaya. I am considering the Assamese who have gone to USTM which is a private university are richer and are able to afford a private university. But they are also consuming the opportunities of Assamese students who are poorer or from rural background who after so many hardships enter into universities of Assam. And also they are not as privileged to afford to go into private universities like USTM. In short richer people of Assam, they are more privileged and are consuming the opportunities of weaker sections of Assamese people.

I will suggest you to have a proper study on the Right to education Article 21-A . And secondly he mentioned the student who has a degree from University from the outer part of Assam will not be eligible for the Assam Govt exams exams.

Who will explain him that once a University gets recognised by NAAC of University Grant Commission (UGC), they get all India accreditation. Because University affiliation is a Union List Matter. No State can arbitrarily discriminate one particular University. Article 14 violation. UGC only requires additional examination for students who have taken medical MBBS courses from abroad.

Lemme give you an example, imagine your younger brother or sister has the opportunity to enroll in a PhD or Master’s program at JNU or the University of Delhi. However, after completing their degree, they would be ineligible for a job in Assam simply because they studied outside the state. Does that make any sense? Would they lose their Assamese identity just because they pursued their education elsewhere, and as a result, be deprived of job opportunities in Assam? Now, let’s discuss the topic of USTM. Before I mention USTM specifically, I request that you fact-check and analyze the data on USTM’s students: “What percentage of students are Assamese or from the Assam region?” I guarantee that 60% of the students are Assamese-speaking and from the Assam region. Additionally, even 70% of the faculty are Assamese. Now tell me, just because the students studied at USTM, does that make them infiltrators, despite hailing from Assam? Does this make any sense? Isn’t this prejudice against the students? Aren’t they being ostracized? Aren’t they being deprived of their rights? Don’t you think the statement given by the CM was utterly ridiculous as well as redundant? What fault do the students have in this? If the CM has any grievances or thinks USTM is doing something wrong, he is powerful enough to take action against it. I emphasize that if the university isn’t abiding by any rules, then action should be taken against it. But why are the students being dragged into this? Why do the students have to suffer? USTM is a UGC-recognized university with NAAC accreditation, and its students have the same rights to apply for jobs in Assam as students from any other university. Getting a degree outside Assam doesn’t make anyone an infiltrator. Remember, USTM’s students aren’t aliens from the Andromeda galaxy.
