For most, if you are not local, you have to stay on campus as a freshman, but you can move off after that.

it's really common especially your freshman year. we actually had to get special permission if we wanted to live off campus freshmen year. but usually it's just freshmen that stay on campus the rest of their years there.

My freshman year, my dorm had some of the biggest rooms on campus but it was still one room. And we had a tiny sink but that was it. Also community bathrooms which weren't too bad. Just awkward when you had to take a shower.
