It's ridiculous to think that no one on the show was going to be shallow or superficial. The fact is everyone will not and does not think alike. Shake told them through his questions who he really was and what he cares about those red flags were ignored even after she called him on it in the pod! If it had been a success it would have validated the premise of the show even more it just didn't work! You don't always make the right choice in life people aren't perfect and sometimes you will be wrong! They need to put more superficial shallow people in that position on that show

They need Andy Cohen to host the reunion. Nick and Vanessa let a lot of things slide (not grilling Shaina and Shayne; not addressing Mal’s role more in that convo with Jarrett; talking over Kyle and not addressing why Shaina ended up in the pod when Shayne thought Natalie was in it).

Shaina ended up in the pod because producers set it up that way for drama. They probably set off traps like this all over the place all the time; introducing uneccesary special ‘meetups’ to perpetuate love triangles, asking Mal to speak to Jarrett at the party in Mexico and setting up a camera at the exact table they had been told to sit at. If everyone gets along, there’s no tv show.

Right! I agree, I was fine seeing their emotions a bit. They sympathized and empathized with them. Everyone feels they attacked Shake but their reactions were based on his behavior. Shake was obnoxious and then with Deepti sitting across from him while he was emphasizing on how he wasn't attracted to her or anyone else there. Yes, not in those words the whole time but he made that point all too clear. That girl is human, that'll hurt her feelings. Shaina should've definitely been confronted and called OUT. Shane seemed unstable, like he was going to either explode or faint. Sal wanted to be respectful of Mal so he didn't want to air much out. But he should've been asked about his ex. Overall, I think the hosts wanted to be respectful and sensitive to what they were feeling. This is their real life and emotions here.

I’m actually proud of both Nick and Vanessa and have more interest in them and take them more seriously by standing up for respect. It’s not 20/20 with Barbara Walters.

Totally agree with you here, Shake was not the only one who acted poorly in the show...Shayna was another one who needed to get called out for everything she pulled. Not to mention, Shake was just being honest about how he felt...Shayna on the other hand didn't have a problem playing around with people, and starting up drama, where there was none, just to get what she wanted.

IMO producers will have learned from the bullying and vilifation of Jessica and this will probably have been a factor in Shaina’s handling and kinder edit towards the end of the show. I also think Shaina is a more secure character and didn’t exactly take on that identity of victim. She seemed rather unmoved by everyone else’s emotion and IMO one of the most stable contestants

Because it's double standards. People like Mallary, Shaina, Shayne can fake their relationship and hurt the other partner but that's okay? But when Shake spoke his truth and was honest (although his delivery was wrong) is crucified. I'm like Shake...if I was stuck with someone I was NOT attracted to...I would be honest and conflicted too! I'm not gonna fake it! The other contestants really played their partners and the viewers by portraying their inauthentic and toxic relationship only to dump them afterwards. The hosts didn't pick up on this and instead crucified Shake and forced him to say love is blind. But ofc love is not blind. That is BS...if the hosts really want to carry out this experiment and believe in it...then they should get a whole mix of people too, including unattractive people. Some people are saying Nick & Vanessa should have remained neutral but in my opinion I’m neutral about that cause in the end of the day they are human to and will express their opinions especially to a person like shake. Also when it comes to people commenting about not seeing big people, I think those people by now should know that in western society being Big is not celebrated as attractive but taught as unhealthy. So for the majority of people watching they will not be interested in seeing big people falling in love. I’m not surprised about this, why people are shocked about this is what I’m surprised about. I don’t get what you are trying to say. Love is blind, all sorts of people regardless of where they rank on a conventionally attractiveness scale find love. And to assume that people won’t be interested in watching this with bigger people is more of a bias certain people with narrow minds have. This bias is however unfounded. I am willing to bet that a well considered beautiful love story will be adored by audiences everywhere regardless of the size of the people involved because at the end of the day- what we respond to the most as humans are good stories.

There were people in their 30s both seasons and I think they try to keep it within a 10 year gap for the majority because life experience is hard. If the range is from mid 20s to 50s that would be an even bigger gap. The way the hots handled the matter was unprofessional and unethical. There was so much negativity everyone was attacking shake. That doesn’t make anyone from the show any better then him. The reunion was to talk about how they were feeling and everyone has their right to talk. However agreed or disagree that’s okay. Not even to mention the male host I don’t know his name, I’m so disappointed in him and his wife. I was so offended when he made the comment that he made only because he was mad and defending his wife. I’m a veterinary student and it takes a lot more for a veterinarian to learn, then a common regular human doctor. His comment was toward shake, however he didn’t even think the repercussions that he would make by that comment, he attacked everyone in that Field and that really hit me and it hurt me as that is the dream I’m pressuring. I DO NOT RESPECT THESE PEOPLE IN ANY LEVEL, they are just as bad as the cast members. And the fact that they are getting away with it is so not okay. As for everything else people wished they asked .. this seasons cast (with the exception of shake) seem very protective of each other and their journey. You could tell there was certain topics they didn’t want to talk about, and even tho it’s entertainment we have to respect them. Some of them we’ll see in media for a long time but some just want to go back and be normal and not air out their life on tv. We may love the drama as viewers (as did I) but they have to live that after. I did NOT enjoy that reunion as I did for Season 1; and I believe the producers or whoever worked up those people ON PURPOSE for ratings making it almost similar to a Jerry Springer Show. I will never watch another reunion show of LIB after that. It what a year ago -- but they cut open old wounds and emotions for sick ratings. After a year, we should have seen what we did on Season 1 -- people having MOVED ON and happier.

So sad that the second season turned into just another reality show filled with influencers and fame seeking wannabees. First episode thought I was watching The Bachelor. With the women warring evening gowns to sit in a box?. Oh not to mention the immediate talk about sex (on both sides) and the insistence of the men in describing who/what they were looking for and what they didn't want. Even though the first season was success, you still felt the need to make it look like every other reality show - drama, negativity, and messiness. No need to reflect. You got exactly what you wanted when you chose them and that's why you chose them.

It’s so dumb. They just need a villain for publicity. Shake was the only real person on that show in my opinion. I value people who speak their mind and are honest over people who want to look “good” for the cameras. Love is not blind and that’s proven by this show. The only reason some couples work is because they get a bunch of semi attractive people together. It makes it easier to say love is blind if you do that. The couples that don’t work are the ones where you have one that’s way more physically attractive than the other . And how come we had two big women at the beginning of the season and then they didn’t follow their stories? Is it because people naturally are more interested in following thinner, more attractive looking people on TV? We have GOT to stop being so fucking fake as a society and acting like we don’t ALL have certain preferences and judgments and prejudices. We’re going downhill fast if we’re all going to keep acting like that and condemning anyone who portrays the opposite and owns up to their shit.

I think the reunion is suppose to allow ALL aspects of emotions and conversations to surface without any judgement but unfortunately this seasons there was many moments of lack of accountability and disrespect….. this was a lesson for really many people of this world of viewers noticing things to change within themselves and teaching others the same thang. Respect ✊🏾 it sucks that this was filmed years ago and now we see this like it was filmed last year well hey reality tv 📺 kinda turned to a shitshow 😓

I agree, I was so disappointed with this reunion. I thought Nick and Vanessa criticizing and judgmental attitudes towards Shake were unnecessary when they didn't have the same energy during the actual show. Just stand there read your script and let the cast air out what they need. Let them be real and honest with each other without you guys now inserting opinions.

I understand they were so frustrated with shake. My only criticism is getting on him about being on the show in the first place because I’m pretty sure the whole concept of the show is to find out IF love is blind, and clearly it was not for him, though if he wasn’t even open to it that’s another story I guess.

IMO Vanessa was so personally offended by Shake she fell out of her hosting character and turned into Vanessa the person. Nick, loving his wife, let her continue bc even though he probably knows it wasn’t the best job they could have done, people are only human and deepti at least got a fantastic edit and very careful handling at the reunion

Shake was the only one with balls and honesty to say what he really thinks. But they all attacked him viciously. Meanwhile women like Mallory and Shaina were easily forgiven for lying and being fake as fuck. Not surprised at all. The show and reunion were all about blame it all on men, shame men, forgive women cause they are sugar & spice and everything nice, women deserve the right man, etc.

I think what Mallory and Shaina did is way worst than what Shake did, for example. At least he tried to get over his shallowness and make it work with Deepti. He was very complimentary of her other qualities. But at the end the physical/sexual attraction is important.

I'm pretty Deepti is an awesome person however not everyone is going to be attracted to her physically and that okay. I think Nick and Vanessa did a great job. To say that they got too emotional is ridiculous. All people involved were emotionally invested in this experiment. I like how they weren't passive aggressive and didn't pretend to be all bubblegum rainbows and unicorns. It was real!

Danielle needs therapy because she not emotionally stable but Shake get crucified for being honest and say hey even though I'm mentally attracted to Deepti. I'm not physically attracted to her.

The one thing that bothers me is during the experiment, Sal kept asking Mallory if she wan't fully into him and stuff after he saw her talking w/ Jarrete. Sal kept bringing it up and saying that's liek the one thign that made him uncomfortable and Mallory would just gaslight him and say no, everything's ok that's just in your head. But Sal felt soemthing was off and only after the show aired he saw that his suspicions were confirmed about Mallory. like c'mon - why wasn't this adressed? Shake actually kind of brought it up, but he was controversial so the point died off. Closure on that point was needed for him and the audience - idk who else felt bad for Sal?

I think that Nick and Vanessa are great hosts for this show. I disagree when people say that the hosts have to remain neutral. The hosts have opinions and I don't think that it's a bad thing for them to express it, especially towards a person who's been repeatedly disruptive to the reunion. We see MANY shows where hosts of a show express their opinions. I think that if they hadn't taken control of Shake in that situation, the only other option would have been to remove Shake altogether and while I think Shake is the worst, I do think that he needed to have the opportunity to express himself as well. It's not like they were name calling him, making up lies about him, etc. I think the things they said to him were incredibly true.
