Good UT should do what they can to be higher ranked. Maybe they can beat more of the University of California schools. Honestly they should only do top 5 or 4% of highschool

tbh most people ik here at my public school try to stay within top 3% for this exact reason,i managed top 2% at my local texas highschool, but the school is not that competitive comapred to others. like some of these school in texas if i joined and maintaned my current work ethic i would be around 20%. overall i dont really like the idea of these percentages anyways as i think your choking out other potential from around the country.but i heard they do this as texas had a policy they wanted the schools to be 75% native and all.

Tomi Bello yeah it's bittersweet that you guys only want Texans. Good cause you guys actually get what your taxes pay for (educated public) but bad cause that means more qualified people can not easily attend the school which results in lower ranking for the school. Sometimes they will take that into account how competitive the school but more then anything they will look at overall gpa and your softs. If your in highschool I get on my knees and beg you to email professors at whatever university and college is close to you and find out if any professor in the field you wanna study can have you do something cause you might get lucky.

Tomi Bello yea man my school is really competitive and my rank is around 15% but if I were in other schools my rank would be 5%. This is how unfair the percentages are

(not sure if your texas or not, i am btw) but ya ik some schools here like westwood, were it is EXTREAMLY competetive and you have to bust your ass to even get inside the top ten percent, while in my local area although not being a bad school and all, the amount of work you need to do and the amountof short cuts they have hear make it p easy to get a high rank.

Tomi Bello That's were sat, act, and ap scores play a role. But fully guaranteed a spot should stay for the top 5% or less (doesn't mean a top 25% in one school can't still attend UT)
