Great tour, very nostalgic for me! A lot of new buildings, but still many memorable places from my time there! Class of '92, CS & Math #TexasEx

This is really helpful!! I couldn’t find any virtual tours like this for UT so I loved it. I’m sad I can’t come visit :( I’m still trying to decide where to go

how is the CS department there?
@koinonia_texas4 жыл бұрын
Hey Daniel! The CS department was great when I came in and is getting better with every year! I focused on machine learning & AI (NLP specifically), and I had a lot of good professors who were able to teach in an engaging way that sparked my interest in ML & AI. We also have very good Systems and Theory professors, so if ML & AI isn’t your thing, there are many other classes & research you can get into! All in all, I really appreciated the education UTCS gave me because even though it didn’t give me skills to code up a backend & frontend, it built a foundation for me to be able to pick up those skills - Michael

@@koinonia_texas Thank you! I will be joining the CS department next Fall as a transfer student, just wanted to learn a little bit more about it. I am also interested in ML, so its good to know there are plenty of research opportunities.

@@cn1878 Hi! Even as a computer science major, I don’t have a very good idea, but I can speak about the experiences from my friends. For them, the most successful way (albeit not super successful) to get into the program is if you solely declare the major. As for competitiveness, it’s definitely a tough major to get into as I have many friends who weren’t able to get into the major even with a decent GPA and course load. Hope this helps! Good luck!
