I got into civil at cockrell with a 3.5. I actually had a buddy of mine write me a rec letter. We were in the same student organization at UTSA. He ended up recommending me to UT based on my involvement in the organization. I thought it was cool that UT didn’t ding that as a bad letter simply because it came from a friend.

Hearing you got in with a 3.5 is nice to hear, I still have yet to take my freshmen year, but with calc 1 and 2 being in plan for my first year I’m trying to have realistic expectations for my gpa.

Moner Droning well if it makes you feel any better I got a B in cal 1 and and an A in cal 2 honors. I think the rest of your application speaks louder than your grades tbh. Just make sure you’re in the a decent GPA cut off. Good involvement, letters and story make a difference

tewia will cool engineering projects also help?
@tewia4 жыл бұрын
Moner Droning sure. I think projects can be useful to paint a picture about your interests and possibly set a theme to your application. For example you have a video on your KZbin page about the disasters from the recent tornados this year. Perhaps this was something that hit close to home and has affected your life in some way? Have you thought of possibly volunteering at habitat for humanity and or other services that help those affected? Being actively engaged in your community by raising awareness about issues like this and actively doing something to help solve the issue can speak louder than just a random engineering project on your application.
