What about automatic admits? Will the SAT become a hurdle or will they simply not consider it for those top 6% students?
@sarahasadi72565 ай бұрын
In his book he mentioned that UT cares for Rank+ SAT/ACT score only. There is also Academic Index formula that will help you to find out which college at UT you will get admitted.

I had an X on my portal checklist for one of my transcripts THE ENTIRE TIME and it didn’t show it was ever under review. I assumed one of my transcripts hadn’t come in on time so I didn’t count on UT being a possible college I’d get into. I lost my mind when I got an email on JUNE 21ST SAYING I GOT IN. I had already signed a lease in college station and I was so upset. As of now I cannot attend UT because I can’t get out of my lease in college station.

My son applied to Architecture-Archi Engineering dual degree course and was CAPped. He already submitted his appeal to ask reconsideration. He also asked if he could change his major into architectural engineering. In your video, you listed 'civil engineering' as one of less competitive engineering majors. Do you think he would better add civil engineering for his 3rd choice? I don't know which is more competitive between civil and architectural engineering majors.

How does UT view a High School DE (through UT's program) grade of 90 on an external transfer application? Is that a 3.75 or a 4.0 in the calculation of that applicant's college GPA?

I wanna major in Statistics and Data Science (under college of natural sciences) and I got CAPPED. Having said that, if I meet the GPA and coursework requirement at a different UT school, does it guarantee me admission at my desired major at UT Austin in my sophomore year?
@jejtheoracle378110 ай бұрын
it doesn't; you're guaranteed any major in the college of liberal arts, but you'd need to apply for stats and data science. if you keep up a very high gpa, have good ecs, solid essays, and a great resume, your chances for stats or data science are pretty decent. CNS (non comp-sci) isn't as difficult as mccombs or cockrell.
@mariaobsuna994110 ай бұрын
Data science is a very new major to UT Austin, and it is not even available for any current CAP student to choose upon their major selection, at least for right now (I'm CAP rn). Something for you to consider if it's something you really want to do-- Idk how they're doing internal or external transfer for that major either, so maybe try to call and get some answers.

You didn’t spend time with PACE - is this rare? Daughter was offered this.
@haneefibrahim381610 ай бұрын
Yeah PACE is super rare, only about 200 students per year get it I think. It’s very similar to CAP. Basically students in PACE will take 1 class per semester at UT in their first year and the rest of their classes at Austin Community College (ACC) at Rio Grande. If they do really good in their coursework and get a good GPA then they are automatically admitted to their major at UT Austin IF it is in the College of Liberal Arts, College or Education, Moody College of Communication, or Steve Hicks School or Social Work

My son is a junior - rank 12 weighted GPA 4.37. What AP classes would you recommend to take over this school year or over summer in UT high school online classes. He wants to do this to improve rank and to make attractive transcript.
@k1llersw0rd80 Жыл бұрын
So I have a higher gpa and rank than the student in the video. I haven't done the act yet I'll do it this fall. But my extracurriculars arent on this kind of level. I am very worried my extracurriculars arent going to cut it mostly because I started doing my ECs in junior year or in the summer. Online school during covid prevented me from doing any ECs in 9th grade and in 10th grade I was trying to adjust being in high school. Essentially t felt like a freshman experience in 10th grade even though I was a sophomore. I also tried to focus more on my grades to fix them up after a mediocre freshman year. Will I be able to explain why I did extracurricular rather late in my highschool life? I am also hoping for mech engineering in either ut austin or texas a&m. Also applying to UTD for comp sci rather than engineering since I'm pretty interested in it though not on the level of interest as in engineering. I'm really just hoping I wont be immediately rejected because I didnt do research or internships (might have an internship senior year but that's too late for it to matter). Really hoping you to hear whati should work on in my resume or application.
