Since UT Austin is such a new university, one can't expect them to have had time to address this issue and build an abundance of housing. If only UT had money in an endowment to address issues such as this. Alas, 139 years hasn't been enough.

Only if we were in the days my husband and I experienced… 3 bds 2 and 1/2 baths for 1k…a full house And before that an apartment for less than 500…. No stipulations, just average normal life

UT housing prices high hmmm. Since I own an condo in west campus and are aware of some of the factors that impact remt are: Popular school, downtown Austin result in high property values. This in turn leads to high property taxes.
