Considering her history with her injury and lost. I can definitely agree that was an impressive comeback. Love to hear story like this. Now I am expecting the same with the other ladies for next year event.

With Clarisse Agbegnenou's short retirement, Abe is definitely the most dominating woman of the judo world. I was hoping Daria Bilodid would fight in the 52kg so we would get a showdown, but actually even at 57, I'm not even sure she would be favourite against Abe. She is on track to join legend Ryoko Tamura at the top of the History of Judo !

Yikes. Double shoulder surgery. Lookin pretty sharp, in 2022. I don't really know how to watch a Judo match, but when the commentator said something like 'moving in and moving out,' something clicked. Thx for clip. :)

I feel for krasniqi changing her weight category and ending up against abe and buchard
@paulstarstarpaul57002 жыл бұрын
That may seem disrespectful but I really don’t. Krasniqi really looks like a -52 kg fighter and she generally was able to overpower her opponents physically in -48 quite easily. She probably made much weight in the past in order to be more successful. Even though I am aware that cutting weight is a part of every combat sport and that everyone does it I really don’t like it when fighters like for example Bilodid and Krasniqi resort to cutting high amount of weight in order to boost their short term success. Therefore I also don’t feel sorry for them when they start competing in higher weight classes and struggle to beat the top fighters due to not being that physically dominant anymore
@spinalc0rds2 жыл бұрын
@@paulstarstarpaul5700 I agree partly, I dont know why they both switched categories but sometimes it's not possible to maintain lower category weight. prime example is buchard who was struggling in -48kg but is thriving in 52. not sure if they will adapt or just get into the chasing pack
@paulstarstarpaul57002 жыл бұрын
@@spinalc0rds its highly likely that they both struggled to maintain weight. Especially Bilodid who seemingly out of nowhere started to struggle in -48 (probably due to issues performing while cutting high amounts of weight). I think Krasniqi is and probably will stay a medal contender as long as she is able to stay in -52, because she clearly has no problem to compete in the weight class physically or condio whise.( I can obviously only speculate how much she has to cut for her new weight class.) However I doubt that she will be able to kick Abe off the throne who is just to dominant and seems to be able to handle Krasniqi‘s incredible physique. However I think Bilodid will stay in the chasing pack at -57 because she can’t profit that much from her height anymore and I don’t see her being able to entirely reinvent herself. Some medals might be possible but I don’t see her in final blocks regularly in her new weight class even though I would find it incredibly interesting if my prediction was disproven.

@@paulstarstarpaul5700 tbf Krasniqi always prefered 52kg and went to down to 48kg because of Kelmendi.
@stillalive99972 жыл бұрын
Krasnqi has strong physique and also great technique if you see her matches with Abe and also Buchard you can see pretty much she can handle them and definitely she is coming for them, this is just the adapting phase on the new category and also adapting and being familiar with techniques and their strength! Distria always wanted to compete on her natural category 52kg but due to Majlinda Kelmendi it was impossible to compete on that category and she stepped down on 48 kg and dominated that category for sure, however now with the Majlinda’s retirement she will stay on this category! Just one more fact you can never underestimate a reigning Olympic champion or a top 10 ranking athlete! For example Nora Gjakova another amazing athlete from Republic of Kosovo, she never beat the Japanese athlete Tsukasa Joshido but in the Olympic games she did that so you never underestimate top fighting judokas! Both Distria and Abe are not at prime Majlinda ‘s Kelmendi level or her peak status! However everything depends on the future if they will improve or will face injuries! In a nutshell the 52 category is going to be interesting in Olympic games!

why would you see the philosophy of judo in a world wide level competition, of course there will be just technique, the traditon and philosophy happens in the training dojo
@thomass.40072 жыл бұрын
Amateurs like you believe competitive judo supposed to look like Kara... But how will 2 people waiting to take over the opponents energy win against each other? These competitive Judoka will show clean kata-like judo against amateurs, but in a competition with another judomaster, of course both know what the other can do. You need to use faints, superior grips, subtle distractions and some chaos to create openings. Non-competitive Judoka see it, don't understand anything and just think that it doesn't look like in the kata, so it must be watered down, even though it's the pinnacle of the art
@daspie27652 жыл бұрын
@@thomass.4007 I totally agree with you and Sukuyu. To the author of this thread, this is a high-level sport competition where the goal is to do ippon. And I really don't understand what is your focus on the philosophy and the code, while it is actually there. Both judokas cordially greeted each other and happily shook hands afterwards. Sportmanship was there. If you want to see katas or beautifully well-done techniques, I am sure and certain that there are plenty of videos on KZbin that focus on this. Another thing, when you said that you understood ju-jistu-do well, a quick research on Google showed to me that you were actually speaking of jiu-jitsu. I am well aware that judo is derived from ju-jitsu, but both are still different martial arts. So yeah, I agree 100 % with Thomas S. and Sukuyu, you know barely anything about judo and you have just started this thread to look down on these amazing athletes, as - according to you only - this is not judo-ish enough ...
@swedishpsychopath87952 жыл бұрын
I'm not particularly fond of this result. Utha Abhe clearly seems to be more male than female. Judo should introduce a third category for transpersons or transperson alike. That would be fair for the all genders.
