@@chrisgawron7797 I think your best guess is as good as mine, but from what I've heard: I don't want to say worse, but Bedard has offensive gifts that very few players his age can rival. Celebrini should be a stud in the offensive zone, but he should be able to excel well defensively. He's not getting as much of a "generational talent" label, but if anything, I'm happy about that; he won't be as in the spotlight.

Color scheme? Well, based on the jersey options that were created and circulated by the guy on X, I really dig the purple, copper and neon green. The copper secondary references the copper mines in the southwest. The purple main is a play on the NBA team. The neon green accent just plays extremely well with both colors. Besides, they're original colors, creative and just attention grabbing. I just really hope the don't choose yeti. There's a mug company named yeti. Might cause conflicts. It sounds stupid too. The Utah mythical, non existent, folklore creature? 🤮🤮🤮🤮

Swarm is the most original, it's unique and fresh and the stadium being called the Hive is perfect. Utah being the Beehive state also links it to Utah more than Yeti and Mammoth (even though I like them too)

Blast, freeze and blizzard are all beverage names. The Hive sounds like a good nickname for the arena if they go with the Swarm for a name. I personally like Yeti the most. But surprised that no one mentioned the name Bighorn (Bighorn sheep)

Purple, copper, neon green. Purple is a play on the jazz Copper is a play on the southwest copper mines Neon green just rounds everything out so well. Attention grabber, breaks the other colors up, and neon green with purple is arguably the greatest color pairing in the world. Yeti = 🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮

Blizzard too similar to Avalanche. There is NIL team named Colorado Mammoth. Venom sound scary. Many of the other names sound too similar to the avalanche. Blast makes make want to go to Dairy Queen.

honestly, my 2 favorites have become Mammoth, fits well, chants well, has a really cool potential color scheme, and a lot of rad potential to it, the second one is kinda surprising with Caribou, it is really underrated, and kinda goes hard, also Hugh Neutron gave us the chant for the team already, and if we get Caribou, imma chant it at every game.

A common chant I hear at hockey games is " Lets go __________" (fill in the blank with team name) For instance in Utah we have an echl team called the Grizzlies. So the chant goes " Lets go Grizzlies", there a cadence to it. So we should keep that in mind about the new team name.

I stand corrected about Caribou in Utah. There are deer like animals in Utah, but Caribou is not one of them. I think in the lower 48 there is very few if at sightings of the caribou. Now the Utah Swarm would be cool because then they could use the Hive as the Arena nickname. Like the Shark Tank for San Jose…

My 4 team names I voted for on the Utah fan vote were Hive, Swarm, Fury, Venom. I really would like to see the team go with the bee theme and use the state flag in the branding of the team. If they went with this kind of idea I would like to see them go with a Red, White, Blue, Gold, and Black Color Scheme.

I don't think intimidating is a point. Just have a name that flows and you're fine. The Anaheim ducks is a good team name, sure it only happened because of The Mighty Ducks but it still works. The players are what makes a team intimidating, not the team names. I mean imagine naming a team the red wings, what are they? chicken wings? How about the flyers? over what? Intimidation comes from the reputation the players earn.

I would’ve gone with Pioneers, nothing even on this list at all. That would’ve gone into historical ties with the Mormon pioneers who moved into the state during the western migration. The logo could be done in a way like the La Salle Explorers in college where instead of a pirate looking through a telescope it could be somebody dressed up as a pioneer looking through binoculars or a seeking pose with the mountains in the background. Out of all of these names on this list I like Venom, Hive, Outlaws, Mammoths, and Mountaineers the most. However, the Swarm one could be the team name and their arena could be called The Hive or a nickname for it like the San Jose Sharks with their place nicknamed The Shark Tank.

Utah Yeti sounds way too X-Files to me, especially if the NHL is going to have the Kraken AND the Yeti. Imagine watching the opening of a game against Utah of your favorite NHL team on TV, and your announcer says something like today Connor Bedard and your Chicago Blackhawks host the Utah Yeti. That sounds like the Blackhawks are playing some ECHL team. Out of all of those names, the Swarm sounds the best. Bruins, Rangers, Hurricanes, Panthers, Swarm? Yeah, I think so.
