How to Transport Your Bike on UTA

I don't know how I ended up here, as I'm not even from Utah, but seeing the diversity of public transportation that the area served by UTA has while also making it convenient for cyclists as much as possible makes me jealous. They are certainly ahead of most of car-addicted America. Keep it up, UTA!

Found out today from a driver that he is not comfortable with my bike on the front of the bus. It has 29 inch tires instead of 26 so it doesn't fully seat down in the bike rack on the front of the bus. My bike doesn't fit well under the bus either because of the tire size. Tried both sets of racks underneath. In the end the driver told me to put it under the bus. FYI in case you are watching this with bike tires that are not 26 inches in diameter. Industry is now moving more and more away from the 26 inch size. UTA - can you get your racks updated to fit the larger diameter tires?

Frontrunner frequently sends the Bike Train every hour it is a train where all the seats have been removed and replaced with bike racks. To find out which train is the Bike Train look for the bike symbol on the side of the cars.

this is interesting and bike racers and Mormon elders and sister missionaries use this to get to their appointments. All modes of UTA have bike racks the only exception is the Blue Line. Bikes are not permitted on the Blue Line in the middle cars and must be loaded into the front two cars and the rear two cars only. All of the Siemens Cars don't have bike racks on TRAX and bikes may only be loaded into the rear and front cars not the middle. All the Bombardier Cars and the Frontrunner Bike Train have bike racks and the Red Line and Green Line accept bikes. Just look for the bike symbol before you load your bike on TRAX or Frontrunner. And remember be on the lookout for bike riders and don't bump into them when you are at stations they can get hurt. Also don't bike or skate on the platforms you can injure yourself and those on the platform and you could fall on the tracks.

Some people prefer to exercise and don't want to carry cargo on their backs. I much prefer bicycle to scooter. To each their own.
