Dr Clark sounds awful. The fact that after someone says they tried hard but struggled and didn't get what they were aiming for and yet didn't say one negative thing about her teaching she then has the audacity to blame the student for not trying hard. Can tell just from that one response that she's a bad teacher.

@kelpjelli
@kelpjelli 3 жыл бұрын
@@TranscendentPhoenix I think the one here who is dumb is the one calling other people stupid, when there was absolutely, no reason for it. Was I hurting you? No. Was I even talking to you? No. Intelligence isn’t everything. Especially when all you can prove is, “I’M sMaRtEr ThAn yOu,” To the rest of the world. When I had teachers who cared about how I learned, I did really well, considering I have multiple learning disabilities. Intelligence isn’t everything, I much rather have empathy toward people than be intelligent, especially if this is how YOU define “intelligence.” Honestly? I believe I’m the more intelligent one in this conversation, considering i got my diploma WITH disabilities and I’m going to college WITH those same disabilities AND I am getting a PHD in psychology. I’m also not defining someone else’s intelligence by standardized testing and grades; considering that a lot a people have disabilities, learning or not, and are more intelligent than a test they memorized for. So maybe I am dumb, but really, how do you define intelligence accurately? You really can’t. Considering that there is multiple ways you can be intelligent, each one is different from the other. All I found with school is memorization and not actual learning. So maybe you are more intelligent because you memorized stuff and I’m out here using my brain to learn, not memorize 🙄🤷🏻‍♀️

I studied at both elite and common universities. One ranks top 30 in the world, another one ranks about 500. Surprisingly, I found out the better your university is, teachers are more understanding and caring about students in an very effective way. The teachers from that elite uni are very responsive for our emails regarding any sort of problems, you name it. During Covid, the first thing they asked us in class was not about our grades stuff, but ‘how you doing during this crazy time? If you need any help, please feel free to chat with me as a friend.’ Yes, the content wasn’t satisfied all the time, but our midterm survey conducted by student representatives always effectively tell teachers how we feel. Teachers also responsibly adjust to these feedbacks all the time. After years of my study in this world elite uni, I finally can understand why parents always want their kids to go to a good university.

It is foolish to blame the Professor when they expect you to engage with the material in class time and in your personal time to make classes the best they can be. What do you want from classes? They are meant to be geared to maximising time available. The Professor is your expert in the subject matter and so not taking of advantage of those expertise is missing the point of higher education. Don't blame the expert, blame your lack of efforts in and out of class. As I come to the end of my university time I can say that you grow as a person if you participate.
