UTE CANOPY BUILD AND INSTALL

Let's have a look at how this canopy is built and how we fitted her up down at Norweld in Melbourne. I'll show you a bit more about the design & say G'day to the blokes from Norweld Australia and Pro Touring Concepts, they are great fella's and do some insane work!!
It's been a few years planning and researching for this setup to happen and we are stoked!!

Top video mate, cheers for releasing it when you did because I've had a couple of questions floating around my mind lately about the fiberglass VS metal canopy setup and this video answered them straight up. Seeing your old canopy setup / full of gear and the difficulties reaching everything etc. is probably the exact same problems I'd encounter in the near future if I ended up going that way.

Gvm upgrade before registration is the go for extra carrying capacity. I got one on my new hilux. Can legally weigh 3500 kg.

It’s worth getting it done for sure. Surprising how quick you can overload your vehicle. Good set up that tray and canopy. We have similar but from another fabricator. Hows that Mazda for towing and durability. Our hilux is strong enough but underpowered for towing.

@@TripInAVan Yes we shell share the work though my wife being a nurse it's a lot easier for her to pick up a couple of shifts per week just to pay rent and food. We have 6 months paid leave and hoping to save that for back up money.. Plan is free camp between major towns and work in places worth spending time , to build up the kitty to keep travelling.

Top vid again, we were there in 2015, didn’t do DHI but did steep point, on the way back is a lot of side tracks that go to numerous blow holes, we enjoyed them a lot, sand driving was never a issue, top spot. Watched this with my daughter and asked me when are we going back, brings back great memories and a great time of our lives.. question for you guys, cost of the barge, and how did you go for fuel, the prado has 150 litre tank, wasn’t a issue, throughly enjoyed this episode. Petri. Note, the homestead we also left the van there, we only did a long day trip to the point.

G'day Justin. We're looking at touring around Oz indefinitely in about 14 months. I'd like to buy a new dual cab (possibly a Hi Lux) and deck it out in a similar manner to yours. In order to get it done right, is it better to talk to the guys at Norweld, Pro Touring or even Toyota to start the process ? I've been following you lot for ages and I can't wait for it to happen ! Hi Awesome set up on the truck mate im about to replace my old fibreglass canopy for an aluminium one like yours , yours seems to be a nice ratio of canopy to vehicle , some seem to have a canopy thats too big. What are the dimensions of your tray or canopy? .cheers

Question: I will be putting a hard shell roof top on it and want a 270 awning on the side, you think it'll still be able to be mounted there and how does your 270 go when opening the door and stuff? RV Chomps yeah mate the 270 will still mount no worries!! You can get shorter door struts so the canopy door doesn’t hit the 270 when open!! Just hit them up if you order one✌️

Its amazing how amazed people are at a fucking simple canopy. This ain't nothing new . Norweld do a good job but its production work so theres nothing custom about it and its $$$$$ asf.
