I had a Bicornuate uterus. 2 cervixes were discovered during my very first papsmear at 16 years of age, that would have been in 1985. I later had the test done where they shot dye up one of my cervixes to see if it spread to both sides & was told I had 2 separate horns that came down into 2 separate cervixes. That was done around 1991 when my husband & I married. I was able to deliver our first daughter in 1995 at 35 weeks after a cerclage at 16 weeks, about 4 months of bed rest and a terbutaline pump, 2 weeklong magwash treatments and thyroids & steroids being delivered. I then had our 2nd daughter 2 years later with similar treatments. My first daughter has always been very healthy. She has vision issues and adhd but many children do so who knows why. My 2nd daughter was born small -16 inches- and had failure to thrive. She lost ground on growth each year so by the time she was 8 years old she had the body age of a 5 year old. We had many, many different tests done to try to figure out why. The only thing found was that she didn’t develop enough enzymes to digest her food. We had her tested for Cerebral Palsy & Turner’s Syndrome due to lack of enzymes but she tested negative to both. We finally did 2 years of growth hormones & she chose to stop at 10 years of age when she was finally following a growth chart at -10% without dropping off anymore. She is now 5ft tall and grateful she did the growth hormones. She does have some memory issues & anxiety issues but who knows if from all the terbutaline, the trauma of all the testing, or if just the way she is. Both of our daughters are very happy & healthy young ladies now. I have heard they are not allowed to use terbutaline, now, except for in the hospital & only for 3 days as it can possibly cause issues in the mother & the child. Some of which I do see in myself & my girls that make me wonder. However, I’m so grateful for the doctors & the medications I received. I know I wouldn’t have been able to have children if it weren’t for the doctors who treated me!
