Thanks for the video. I really appreciate that you keep it fun. BTW, a group of ravens is called an unkindness, rave, conspiracy, treachery or a flock. They got a lot of negative reviews back in the 19th century, thus the names. They get the name unkindness because they kick their babies out of the nest before they can fly. However, they continue to care for the babies for a few weeks after they are out of the nest, but the act looks evil to people who don't know what is going on. It's believed they get kicked out to help them develop strength since they can move around easier when not in the nest. Personally, I think this helps filter out the crayon eaters and keeps them from getting supply blocked.

At least in the first game (still gotta watch the other ones), the deciding factor was you were able to turtle up and had him come to you, where your siege tanks and turrets shredded his army. While Ravens do have harass potential and are good at gorilla tactics, they pair really well with heavy defensive units like siege tanks. A lot of his stuff was killed before it even got within range to respond. The trick is getting them to take the bait, which you eventually did.

53:03 regarding names for groups of ravens, the popular one is unkindness. There are a lot of specific words for groups of different animals and most of them - almost all of them - originate from 1 book written by 1 person a few hundred years ago. These words did not enter the language proper for a couple of hundred years until someone rediscovered that book relatively recently and spread these arbitrary words. One person came up with them, was mostly ignored for several generations, then got popular after more than a century. These words have no normal place in history. Their existence is completely arbitrary in a way few other words are. One person wrote a "dictionary" and an unrelated group enjoyed part of it and started using some of the definitions in the "dictionary." You can read up on this if you want. The KZbin channel Rob words has a great video about it too.

Grats on beating Clem! He may have been experimenting a bit but, hey, that just makes it even, since you're always doing that xD 40:20: Man, it was looking so good after this fight. Those Tank kills put it solidly in your favor. If the Ravens hadn't suicided it would have been even more so. I think making 3 Libs was the biggest mistake. You really only need 1 to push forward. Making 3 helped him gain the Viking advantage. And, after that, too many Tanks. Could have had a lot more Vikings or Marines. That many Tanks is massive overkill, especially when the enemy is going air.

Hi Marc, just sharing an idea: I think you have said before that you don't want to do a bronze to GM series because once you run out of provisional MMR it takes hundreds of games to get there. What if you used multiple accounts to do it? So for example one account to go from Bronze 3 -> Gold 3, another one to go from Gold 3 -> Plat 3 or Diamond 3, and so on? That way you could always have provisional MMR available and do it in much fewer games. Feels like you would be a great teacher and it would be great to hear your take on how to play at different skill levels. p.s. great episode as always today!

After hearing Marc get hungry on the finals, I think esports big wigs should really make a study of how much calories a tournament burns up from players. Help stables and players with their pre-game prep (could also be beneficial for lower level players, too). Will that make Starcraft 2 ideal for weight loss. Highly unlikely. Unless they somehow make it into a full-body VR game. And even then I think it'll just turn your body spasming from the APM.

i'd really love to see a game or two in the test version where you try to make the most of the raven's anti-armour missile. i know it's not as good as it once was, but with being able to get more ravens out cheaper and easier it might make something like a raven marine push or raven battlecruiser composition work, just anything that fires lots of bullets quickly
