@@IamTimOtheusYou're asking the wrong question, because you're attempting to find anything you can use to stir doubt. Do some research: 1. Who was Zaid (ra)? 2. Who were the hufadh (memorizers of Quran) who formed the committee he oversaw to codify the Quran and make one standard copy? 3. Whose complete copy of the Quran did they include in their collection of notes to ensure they had everything? 4. After the completion of the project, who agreed upon and approved the final copy? 5. How did Uthman (ra) collect all the personal copies and notes that the people had collected over the 23 years? Was it by force or was it voluntarily? Answer these questions, then you'll realize how stupid your question sounds.

Angel Gabriel instructed Prophet Muhammad PBUH where Verses and Chapters belonged so that he could sequence the Holy Quran correctly. Prophet Muhammad PBUH instructed scribes to write verbatim as he dictated them orally. The scribes of the Prophet PBUH would write the Verses of the Holy Quran as dictated on whatever surface they had available, whether it took the form of leather, white stones, bones, animal skin, pieces of bark, etc. His main scribe was named Zaid bin Thabit R.A. Whereas Quranic Verses were composed in fragments, the Holy Quran was compiled into a Book - one developed within two years after the passing of the Prophet PBUH when his major companions were still alive. During a battle, many Quranic memorizers were killed, so the scribe of Prophet Muhammad PBUH, Zaid bin Thabit, was asked to compile the Holy Quran into a published Book. Whereas Zaid bin Thabit memorized the whole Quran by heart, he did not submit any Verses to the formed Book unless he had acquired two witnesses for each Verse - their testimonies were in written form and memorization - to confirm the Verses were exactly like how they were revealed ensuring no words or letters were added or subtracted from the text. It’s important to stress that the Prophet’s main scribe, Zayd bin Thabit, did not rely on himself, or for that matter, a single companion, to compile the Holy Quran. Instead, he called upon the services of the many memorizers of the Holy Quran to ensure and confirm that they possessed the exact Verses of the Holy Quran, as sent down and Revealed to Prophet Muhammad PBUH with no additions or subtractions. Many companions of the Prophet PHUH memorized the Holy Quran during the life of the Prophet, word for word. The companions knew that past Scriptures, such as the Torah sent with Prophet Moses and the Gospel sent with Jesus Christ, were rendered lost, so they took the necessary steps to protect the Holy Quran from any additions, enhancements, or subtractions; doing so through the devices of word for word memorization. No parts of the Holy Quran were lost when Zaid bin Thabit compiled the Quran into book form; this owing to the fact that the companions had written copies of the Holy Quran, and the Holy Quran as a whole was memorized by many of the companions. The oral tradition has always been the primary means of preserving the Holy Quran; even today, millions of people worldwide have memorized the Quran by heart. This more than 600-page document is memorized word for word, letter for letter, even by children that do not speak Arabic. Even if every single copy of the Quran were to be burnt today, it would not matter - because many people worldwide have the Holy Quran memorized by heart. This complete Book of the Holy Quran remained with the first Caliph, Abu Bakr, until his death, then was passed down to the second Caliph, Umar ibn Al Khattab. After his death, it was entrusted to his daughter, Hafsa, also a wife of the Prophet PBUH. During the 3rd Caliph of Islam of Uthman ibn Affan, he realized that many non-Arabs were converting to Islam and that the Holy Quran was being recited and written in various dialects and scripts. In addition, some of the companions would compose the Holy Quran from memory or copy its text from someone else with their own hands. This activity often results in human copyist errors. Since the Arabic language scripture had yet to develop at this point entirely, one letter or symbol can represent multiple letters, increasing the likelihood of a copyist’s error. The companions also would sometimes jot down their notes in the margins of their text copies for their own benefit, whether the notes formed the definitions of a word, the pronunciation of a word, a supplication dua, etc. Many of the companions had not learned how to read or write proficiently. The Arabian Peninsula had a high illiteracy rate then, and many of the notes in their codices contained spelling errors. Uthman ibn Affan deemed it critical that everyone, including future generations, receives the unaltered Message of God in its exact words, verbatim, sans the enhancement or addition of anyone’s notes or the presence of copyist errors. It would confuse and confound future generations to receive personalized copies of the Holy Quran, each bearing notes from a companion. To prevent this from happening, the Caliph at the time, Uthman ibn Affan, requested that all of the personal copies of the Holy Quran that contained the individual notes of the companions - be burned, save the single original Quran compiled by the Prophet’s main scribe Zaid bin Thabit and the appointed committee. Finally, only one version remained, including the exact Words of Allah verbatim, as the Holy Quran was intended. Uthman ibn Affan standardized all copies of the Holy Quran. In the West, the ritual of burning something has a negative connotation that represents a show of disrespect or the concealment of evidence. However, this was not the case when the fragments of the Holy Quran containing the companion’s notes were burned. In Islam, Muslims cannot simply discard any text that includes the Words of God into the garbage, as such a gesture would be deemed disrespectful. Instead, they must be burnt or buried. It was necessary to burn those copies to ensure they did not circulate to the rest of humanity. Because this same act was not done with the Gospel, the Bible today contains verses that originated as notes in the margin of pages - written by scribes never meant to make them into verses, as they never contained the words of God nor Jesus Christ. With the original master copy of the Holy Quran in possession of the Caliph Uthman ibn Affan and all personal copies burnt, master copies were made from the original and distributed to each city’s grand Mosque in the Islamic province. Recipients included Mecca, Medina, Basra, Kufa, and Damascus, along with the dispatchment of Quran reciters to teach the people in those cities the correct recitation and pronunciation of the text. In addition, the Book’s master copies were present in the city’s grand Mosque so that people could make copies. From that time until today, every Quran copy in the world has existed in the same version, letter for letter. It is believed that original documents exist today in Turkey and Uzbekistan. “Indeed, it is We who sent down the Qur’an, and indeed, We will be its Guardian.” (Quran 15:9) God has promised to preserve the Holy Quran, protecting His Book from anyone who attempts to modify or change its Text or Message. This means God will guard His Book against human-made modifications, distortions, additions, subtractions, or tampering. “This is the Book about which there is no doubt, a guidance for those conscious of Allah” (Quran 2:2)

With all due respect my fellow brother in Humanity. This is a very sanitizers version of what actually took place. Sahih al-Bukhari 4679 Narrated Zaid bin Thabit Al-Ansari: who was one of those who used to write the Divine Revelation: Abu Bakr sent for me after the (heavy) casualties among the warriors (of the battle) of Yamama (where a great number of Qurra' were killed). `Umar was present with Abu Bakr who said, `Umar has come to me and said, The people have suffered heavy casualties on the day of (the battle of) Yamama, and I am afraid that there will be more casualties among the Qurra' (those who know the Qur'an by heart) at other battle-fields, whereby a large part of the Qur'an may be lost, unless you collect it. And I am of the opinion that you should collect the Qur'an." Abu Bakr added, "I said to `Umar, 'How can I do something which Allah's Apostle has not done?' `Umar said (to me), 'By Allah, it is (really) a good thing.' So `Umar kept on pressing, trying to persuade me to accept his proposal, till Allah opened my bosom for it and I had the same opinion as `Umar." (Zaid bin Thabit added:) `Umar was sitting with him (Abu Bakr) and was not speaking. me). "You are a wise young man and we do not suspect you (of telling lies or of forgetfulness): and you used to write the Divine Inspiration for Allah's Messenger (ﷺ). Therefore, look for the Qur'an and collect it (in one manuscript). " By Allah, if he (Abu Bakr) had ordered me to shift one of the mountains (from its place) it would not have been harder for me than what he had ordered me concerning the collection of the Qur'an. I said to both of them, "How dare you do a thing which the Prophet has not done?" Abu Bakr said, "By Allah, it is (really) a good thing. So I kept on arguing with him about it till Allah opened my bosom for that which He had opened the bosoms of Abu Bakr and `Umar. So I started locating Qur'anic material and collecting it from parchments, scapula, leaf-stalks of date palms and from the memories of men (who knew it by heart). I found with Khuza`ima two Verses of Surat-at-Tauba which I had not found with anybody else, (and they were):--

The version we got is just the original, the one memorized, the exact verses. Ofc its been added with all the lines and dots to help standardized reading. Cause the old quran we discovered got no lines. Like no way non arab or even modern arab can read it the exact same. But the verses are the same. Remember. It doesn't come down in textbook form. Its oral tradition. So everyone jot down their own extra notes back then. That's why those extra mushaf and not standardized got burned. So we only have the sentence that the angel brought down. Now we got the tafseer to help with the additional notes and explanation about the verse. But the tafseer differs a bit between them i think.

@@HiBoBeaux The standardization of the Qur'an was done by Zayd ibn Thabit by the order of Abu Bakr originally, and then Uthman, in a process that spanned several years. He went everywhere searching for verses of the quran that people had written or memorized, verified them with several companion accounts, and compiled them in one book, without tafsir (exegesis) or companion interpretations. He included all different riwayat, ways of recitation, that could authentically be attributed to the prophet and the way he recited. Before the standardized version was published, the entire Muslim ummah was challenged to cross-examine and find any issues in the standardized version, and none did, thus they all accepted it. Many chose to keep their own mushafs, but those who didn't had them burned in order to keep one standardized mushaf to eliminate confusion among the people who would come later.

If it was Apostle Paul who gathered all the New Testament scriptures and burnt all other ones that were not standardized, Muslims today will never let us hear the last of it. They will say he corrupted it and burnt the original. This reason Mohammed gave is weak. If the Quran was passed on basically by oral means, why then did he have to burn people’s personal copies? I thought you guys always claim that if someone makes a mistake even in one word in recitation, other Muslims would know and correct the person. Why didn’t they just write it from memory? Why bother about what other people have in their personal copies since everyone knows the Quran by memory? If I ever encounter Mohamed in person, I won’t let him off so easily. You will have to explain to me because this weak reason is only sufficient for people who don’t want to think far.

For all Christians who still try to argue with us about this point, and still falsely believe that they have grounds to stand upon, please allow me to try to explain the actual difference, I want you to honestly reflect on this point and Imagine if Jesus Christ himself dictated the words of a gospel to his disciples and the disciples wrote it down Verbatimly but in separate parchments, and let’s call this gospel for the sake of argument, “the gospel of Jesus” and very shortly after the death of Jesus all the disciples of Jesus Christ (peace be upon them all) who lived and learned from Jesus Christ directly got together while they were all still alive and wrote down this gospel and canonized this single gospel and meticulously copied it to the letter and sent out with the apostles and burned the previous copies they had, would you seriously find that problematic? Now I want you to genuinely think about how you will feel if you would look at carbon dated manuscripts that date to the time disciples themselves and you can read it for yourself and confirm for yourself that it contains the exact verbatim wording of the gospel that you yourself are reading today and I want you to honestly think and be honest with yourself about how much more faith you will have in the text of this hypothetical gospel. Now I want you to genuinely think about how instead, what you are reading now is four different gospels that people a couple of centuries after the death of the disciples claimed were written by eyewitnesses and different letters that different people at different churches at different times had disagreement about and books were removed and other were added and the canon did not officially close until the sixteenth century in the Council of Trent in 1546 which still contains books that you are unable to trace back to the disciples as they were attributed to them at a later date Now I want you to honestly think and reflect on this point and be honest with yourself about thinking that you do have a ground to stand upon when you make these claims about Othman ordering the burning of the personal copies that people have (and keep in mind the whole community was involved as their was a public committee who called out to all people to come forward as whitenesses to the verses that are being written down so it wasn’t the actions of a single person or done by religious elites like the case of the Bible)

@@rowenmaka1093 You should read the Old Testament more often, or is the Old Testament not scripture for you? Oh wait…..despite the fact that Jesus Christ himself said in Matthew 5:17 “Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I have not come to abolish them but to fulfill them.” But y”all just ignore what Jesus Christ explicitly taught and cling instead to the teachings of people who came after Jesus Christ and totally disregard the laws even when those church fathers of yours never even met Jesus Christ in person be it Paul or your other church fathers who came centuries after Jesus Christ including the bishops who voted in the Christian councils on your creeds many centuries AFTER the death of Jesus Christ. So I am so glad that you brought up the teachings of Jesus Christ, particularly when everything that Jesus Christ himself explicitly taught is also taught as well in Islam, and people can look up the words of Jesus Christ in the Bible and cross check them with the equivalent teachings in the Quran and sayings of Prophet Mohammed but y’all ignore the explicit teachings of Jesus Christ and cling instead to vague ambiguous verses that you keep insisting on understanding exclusively in light of the teachings of the bishops who came centuries later and never even met Jesus Christ Now, Just a small piece of advice Maybe someone else could get triggered by your derogatory language and feel the need to correct and clarify the blatant lies you have posted when you totally misrepresented what our religion teaches, but certainly not me, as in my view what you posted only serves as evidence of the lack of ethics and morality from your part when representing other people’s religions, which serves as a better representation of what your religion teaches you about truthfulness and proper representation, as well as honesty and fairness, serving as a refutation in of itself for all the claims you posted above (and those who objectively and truthfully investigate both our claims will certainly be able to confirm that). Everyone and anyone is able to look up and verify the truth about your claims as there is no shortage of material online that responds to the false propaganda spread by missionaries and the readers of our posts even have full access to secular scholarship on these topics as well as well as having the ability to read the original source material for themselves, so therefore I assure you people who are genuinely looking for the truth, and they are plentiful, will do just that and will immediately see through your deceptive behavior.

The Bible that was written by unknown people that weren't eye witnesses to the events? Stop projecting, the only man worshipping pagan polytheist that has a corrupt book is you: Let's bring Christian Bible scholars regarding this shall we? The Modern Christian scholarly consensus to be specific. Here is a list of the NT mansucripts which proves no eye witness ever wrote it: en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lists_of_New_Testament_manuscripts *94% of the surviving manuscripts come from the 9th century or later.* Reference: Aland, Kurt; Aland, Barbara (1995). I will give you their full names and wikipedia links to see these Christian scholars. "The Gospel of Matthew is anonymous: the author is not named within the text, and the superscription "according to Matthew" was added some time in the second century" "On the surface, this has been taken to imply that Matthew's Gospel itself was written in Hebrew or Aramaic by the apostle Matthew and later translated into Greek, but nowhere does the author claim to have been an eyewitness to events, and Matthew's Greek "reveals none of the telltale marks of a translation" [13] Harrington 1991, p. 8.
