Right, and when you pay tax to any government, do you have to pay it with humiliation and numerous conditions that humiliate them? Therefore, Muslims are not allowed to honor the people of Dhimmah or elevate them above Muslims, for they are miserable, disgraced and humiliated. (Do not initiate the Salam to the Jews and Christians, and if you meet any of them in a road, force them to its narrowest alley.) This is why the Leader of the faithful `Umar bin Al-Khattab, may Allah be pleased with him, demanded his well-known conditions be met by the Christians, these conditions that ensured their continued humiliation, degradation and disgrace. The scholars of Hadith narrated from `Abdur-Rahman bin Ghanm Al-Ash`ari that he said, "I recorded for `Umar bin Al-Khattab, may Allah be pleased with him, the terms of the treaty of peace he conducted with the Christians of Ash-Sham: `In the Name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful. Islam seemes to embrace a lot of superstition, starting with how to enter the loo, kissing a rock, evil eyes in multiple cultures, Jinns, Satan giving false revelation to your prophet (why didn't he discern the different sound of the bell?) etc. As if a musical instrument or a call for prayer from the church tower would distract us! To be fair: see what happens if you don't pay your taxes in any modern secular country. Almost no reasonable person would have an objection to throwing tax evaders in prison. The problem here is twofold: uthman is fine with imposing legal penalties on the wives and children of tax evaders, not just the tax evaders. That's unjust. The taxes imposed are based on religious criteria and are being used to fund a theocratic government, which is inherently discriminatory. General verses talk about belief in Allah, good manners, and acts of worship. Specific verses, such as this verse, were revealed in regards to particular situations. This sûrah came at a time when the pagans of Arabia (and their allies) repeatedly violated treaties they had signed with the Prophet (ﷺ). Muslims had to fight for the survival of their newly established state in Medina. So this verse discusses dealing with those who violated their agreements and attacked the Muslims. Offenders were fought, unless they stopped their aggression. If they chose not to accept Islam, they were obligated to pay Jizya-tax." Explanation 2 " Taxation systems have existed since ancient times. There are several references in the Old Testament (e.g., Ezra 4:20). In the New Testament, Jesus allows paying taxes to Caesar (Luke 20:25). Under Islamic rule, all individuals had financial obligations-Muslims paid zakâh (2.5% of their savings) and non-Muslims (ⱬimmîs) were required to pay jizyah (tax for protection from foreign enemies). The jizyah was an average of one dinar (4.25 g of gold) annually. Women, children, the elderly, the clergy, the poor, and those who were unable to work were exempt. Those who opted to join the army were also exempt. Poor ⱬimmîs were supported financially by the state. Muslim rulers refunded the jizyah if they failed to protect their non-Muslim subjects." @sounakbanerjee18923 жыл бұрын
You are using presentism to understand this subject which is totally unacademic. Lets dissect your claims, during pre-modern times, expansionist wars were part of the world order. Every king did it from alexander to richard to Chandragupta to suleiman. In Islam law before war, the kingdoms, specifically the kings of that kingdom, that were to be annexed were often asked to either accept Islam and be part of the larger Ummah or to surrender and agree to pay jizya or tribute and the ruler will often be allowed to rule. If they accepted either of the two, then the war is not supposed to take place. If the kingdom refuses, then obviously the war took place. If the muslims win, obviously they will become rulers of the land and hence implementing sharia and like every king imposes tax, the muslim ruler will also impose tax. For non-muslims , it will be jizya. And just like zakat, poor, disabled, women, children and even monks of other religions are exempted from paying jizya. Rather the poors are helped from the treasury of the muslim kingdom as we find the example of poor Jewish man who was given pension by hazrat Umar. As far as enslaving, only those among the enemy camps fighting or assisting in the battlefield are taken as captives and not the general inhabitants who didn't took part in the battle. Also that was the norm of those days. Also the muslim ruler can also release them free like Sultan Salahuddin did to the Christians. Also what needs to be taken into account is jihad al talab or offensive expansionist war is not compulsory on individuals but on Muslim states and also according to all scholars it is not compulsory in all time particularly in modern days when there is a shift in the world order and where all muslim states have territorial agreements with other nations as Quran clearly tells to uphold treaties and agreements

Here’s the alleged “jizya” which only means recompense. [33:26] He also brought down their allies among the people of the scripture from their secure positions, and threw terror into their hearts. Some of them you killed, and some you took captive. [33:27] He made you INHERIT THEIR LAND, THEIR HOMES, THEIR MONEY, and lands you had never stepped on. GOD is in full control of all things. That’s how straightforward it is 😂 And it’s all because they allied with the enemies of the prophet. [59:2] He is the One who evicted those who disbelieved among the people of the scripture from their homes in a mass exodus. You never thought that they would leave, and they thought that their preparations would protect them from GOD. But then GOD came to them whence they never expected, and threw terror into their hearts. Thus, they abandoned their homes on their own volition, in addition to pressure from the believers. You should learn from this, O you who possess vision. [59:3] If GOD did not force them to leave, He would have requited them in this life (even worse than forcing them to leave). In the Hereafter He will commit them to the retribution of Hell. [59:4] This is because they opposed GOD and His messenger. For those who oppose GOD and His messenger, GOD is most strict in enforcing retribution. That simple. These criminals do not speak for Islam!
