I inherited a Stanley utility knife, from my late father in law, and I did a very sympathetic restoration, mainly with the buffing wheel, as I wanted to preserve it's character... It hangs on a string above the work bench, and gets used nearly every day, !! Ahh,, happy memories of Jimmy,, 👍👍

ScoutCrafter, You can buy both gold leaf and gold spray. I have no idea what they cost or where you get them. My wife and took an antique painting in for restoration. It turned out the painting was a printed picture glued on hard board. The value of the painting was zero. The picture frame was an antique and was worth a few hundred dollars. After restoration the frame's value doubled. For part of the restoration process gold leaf was pressed onto the frame using burnishing tools. Notre Dame football is known for spray painting their helmets with gold prior to their football games. Bob

That utility knife is a jewel. The thing about the "cool kids" is that school turns out to be the highlight in life. The other kids turn out more rounded in life. Nice work on the badge. It reminded me of a saddle my saddle and leather working mentor did when a friend who was a LT of detectives in a large county retired. He had been in to horses since a kid and even did ranch work. He was doing cowboy mounted shooting as well. He was able to get multiple copies of his badge to mount on his new saddle in place of conchos. The gold and enamal paint on the saddle was an amazing look. Normally I wouldn't be found of such but that saddle look amazing.

John there is a big advantage to being in a big city. I have only been to New York once. I went to a toy show at one of the convention centers because my brother in law wanted to go and I owned a bookstore that sold toys so I could get tickets to attend. It was November. He paid for the flight and we stayed overnight at a hotel that he made reservations for. I really had no need to go but I enjoyed the trip. We were walking back to the hotel and we passed a storefront where a group of people were building a boat. The door was open and like a couple of rubes we walked in and looked around at what they were doing. I bet they wondered where the heck we came from. They were nice and answered questions for the 10 minutes we were there.

Sometimes our chickens make double or triple eggs and sometimes they make micro eggs the size of a sparrow egg. It’s strange. Last weekend I am watching this mother and daughter walking out of a supermarket with two cartons of eggs in their hands and the mother stumbles over something in the lot and I wish I had my camera going, because both cartons go flying and splat onto the ground and she yells nooooo like I’m slow motion and then bends down to pick up the cartons and the lids pop open and any remaining eggs just fall out and splat onto the pavement and they both go aahhhh!! and then start laughing and I jump out of my car and say I wish I had caught it on video and they laugh. Then I think they realize that they just lost almost ten bucks worth of eggs

Hi Scoutcrafter, I look forward to your videos each week I enjoyed the knife restoration but what intrigued me today was the eggs! I noticed Egg-land's best cartons in the background. Do you think they taste better? Now that the price of standard eggs has gone up the Egg-land's best price is not out of line. Can you tell the difference?
@ScoutCrafter Жыл бұрын
Carl- From someone who has eaten more eggs then most I can tell you there are huge taste differences in certain eggs. The easiest way to tell a regular egg from a great egg is the color of the Yoke. If the Yoke is a very dark orange then you most likely have a delicious egg, if you get a Yoke that is very lightly colored almost a pale yellow it will most likely not taste so great. Egg Yoke Color! =D
