I use utility knives a lot so over the years I've collected so many different "fun" and "interesting" utility knives and there's things about this knife that I definitely am a fan of like the thumb studs and the shape/overall look but unfortunately the downsides for what I like far outweighs that. For one, not having a toolless blade change immediately makes it very impractical for what I do, I much rather have a very small amount of blade play or wiggle if it means I get a quick blade change system. Secondly, and I assume this is much more of a niche problem but for what I do I am not a fan of having that much blade exposure whatsoever. having that much blade is probably better when using it as strictly a boxcutter but for a construction type job I will only use a knife with the typical half exposed at a time.

You would prefer a toolless blade change, and a half-exposed blade? Boy, have I got news for you! These are features found on **almost every other utility knife ever made**. Go use one of those.

Is there any blade play? As I see it's only held tight by that tiny screw... So you think it's gonna be a problem after a lot of use? Thanks

I own alot of utilty knives and if Civivi wants a market share instead of just a niche, they best rethink that tooled blade swap or they'll go the way of the Gerber EAB and find their product on a WalMart peg board.

It’s ruined by the fact you need a torx bit just to swap the blade. Should be tooless

I actually like it, there’s no play and I simply keep a bit driver with the T8 ready to go where I keep the blades. It only takes half a turn to free the blade.

Nothing you do is so important or time critical that a tooled change is a real issue. Your life just isn't that high-stakes. Just like every other internet EDC weirdo, you're looking at these because you like shopping for little gadgets, not because it will be an crucial daily-use tool.
