Thank you for sharing your video.very informative. My dad was a McGee so I will be checking places you suggested. I think this name is connected to one of the larger clans. Now, my daughter married a Urquhart which I believe is one of the larger clans. From my research I think there is a little Irish in the family too. Thanks again.😊

Last name Robb belong to MacFarlane But think it’s been moved to a different clan since my ancestors went to USA 1910.

I show a historical connection to both MacFarlane and Gunn for the surname Robb: utkilts.com/pages/what-is-your-clan
What about Graham? Are the tartan colors blue& green?
@utkiltsbrice14 күн бұрын
Yep, the Graham modern is that color. If you check out or special order listings, you can see swatches of them: utkilts.com/collections/special-order-kilts-tartans

So I'm a Ferguson. Most people know Ferguson to be Scottish. However, I wonder how much Viking influence the name Ferguson had. Because Ferguson means Son of Fergus. Which is how the Vikings did their last names.

That would be an interesting thing to research for sure!

I thought it was through the father's side for the clan

I suppose originally it was that way, but many of choose to celebrate both sides of our Family. I am not sure about you, but my mom had A LOT to do with raising me and doing so many things for me. I think wearing a tartan connected to her can honor that.

@utkiltsbrice My greatgrandma was a Bell from Alabama She married a Strickland from Texas on the way to FL after the Civil War! I understand Strickland was a Sept of Strycher ? Hello! Cousin! 😂 I have a Jerkins on the paternal side from Ulster plantation 🤔 was indentured I'm told Possibly a press gang picked him up ! That's on hold ATM My uncle was working on it but his wife recently passed. The history is compelling isn't it ? We seem to be a hardy and troublesome people to the Crown ! 😂😂

My husband and I both have Scottish ancestory. I'm Ferguson, he is Bruce. I thought Ferguson was Scandinavian, there's a few ways it's spelled. They may have settled in Wales first. My husband Erik has no idea about his family tree. I'm trying to find out if he has any living relatives. He may have a 3rd cousin in Bakersfield, CA. I'd like to buy a kilt of my clan, even though women do not wear kilts. I do have a Black Watch kilt which I adore. Unfortunately my husband fell victim to cancer and passed away but I'd still like to pursue his family tree and buy a kilt in his memory.
