Always sad at this point; UTMB week has come to an end. Great coverage and inspirational stories. Well done Freetrail! 👏

If Jasmin Paris could win Tor des Geants, where would the double of that plus Barkley Marathons put her?

Appreciate the talk and content. What puzzles me is no talk about Jim or Tom Evans. I would really like to know what going on on their end, tbh. For years (like on irunfar) it seems like, if there is a DNF from anyone, they are gone from any updates. I just hope they are doing ok. Cheers from Germany, thx for doing this!

TDS is the Weird Barbie of UTMB week. And it's amazing.

Thank you Vincent for breaking the “elite standard”/blue print of every trail brands course of crowning sponsored athletes. I would compare his win to Luke Shepardsons Edi Aiku big wave surfing win a few years ago. The local lifeguard beat all the top pro big wave surfers.

I’ve heard that the water at the aid stations was very bad and runners had stomach problems after drinking it

Excellent coverage team Freetrail. Do you think CCC should have it's own day for better commentary/coverage?

It’s really interesting because I heard Sage say once it was, I think it was at Boston and he was really cold, but it wasn’t that bad. I mean could’ve pushed through and made it and matter fact, one of my friends said he outraged the sage of bus marathon, but His explanation made more sense. He says I got a lot of races coming up and I gotta be training for like next week. He says I can’t get the flu or a bad cold or something. That’s gonna take me out of training if I’m not gonna compete at all, and that might be it, but as far as the amateur when they get the outrun Wamsley and sage, right But now for us mortals when we get to say we out ran Jim Walmsley and Sage you know that’s kind of bragging right on our end

Ruth ran slow in beginning, it was planned this way. Told this in her irunfar post race interview!

Regarding TROY watch, you have to put Kilian there although he's ony raced twice. Zegama and Sierre Zinal record will merit about a top 5 even if he doesn't race anymore. I'm sure some people will put him top 3 or even straight TROY, unless you place a minimum of 3 races for consideration or some rule like that.

Great recap! Newbie question here for anyone who might know…. Partway through this episode, Dylan mentioned that recovering from Hardrock is harder than recovering from Western States. Does anyone know why?
@RunningMan14144 ай бұрын
It's about 40-50% more time on your feet plus way more elevation change which is harder on the body.
@bbn03054 ай бұрын
@@RunningMan1414 sorry. I typed it out wrong. D Bo said “Hardrock is easier to recover from than Western States.” Which makes no sense to me for the reasons that you just mentioned. He said it at the 34 minute 20 seconds mark.
@RunningMan14144 ай бұрын
@@bbn0305 Yeah got to that part. DBo and Corrine know better than us for sure. Probably the paces and intensities required for the WS training block and race day take a bigger toll on the athletes body than the excess time on feet and elevation from Hard Rock. It would be really interesting grounds for a study in sports science with a selected group of athletes one year.
@bbn03054 ай бұрын
@@RunningMan1414 yeah that’s really interesting. I definitely trust them more than myself with this kind of stuff. And yes, that would be a really cool study. Thanks for the discussion.

Western is a much faster race. Hardrock much slower and more hiking. When Dylan did Hardrock in 2021 he said it was his fastest ever recovery from 100 miler.

Public health-wise, hot nights from climate change are a big concern. I think we're seeing that impact at utmb sadly. Thank you!
