Utereg! Echt leuk om zoveel bekende plekken te zien. Het valt mij nu pas op dat vrij veel van toeristische plekken ten oosten van CS zijn. Ook wel logisch. De Jaarbeurs is niet echt iets toeristisch. 3 feiten over Utrecht die je (gelukkig) niet genoemd heb. De eerste is het leukst. De laatste is niet zo leuk. 1. Tegenover de oude gevangenis Wolvenplein in de gracht ligt/lag een boot wat als coffeeshop diende. Aan de ene kant moest men afkicken terwijl aan de andere kant gebruikt kon worden. 2. Het Pieter Baan Centrum was tot een aantal jaar geleden in Utrecht gevestigd aan de Gansstraat. Dat stukje wordt ook wel 'het luie end' genoemd. Met daar achteraan 'aan de ene kant legge ze en aan de andere kant zitte ze'. Tegenover het voormalige PBC is namelijk een begraafplaats. 3. Utrecht is onlosmakelijk verbonden met homoseksualiteit. De termen 'die is van Utrecht' en 'Utrechtenaar' betekenen 'homoseksueel'. Dat heeft voor zover ik weet te maken met het feit dat heel lang de domtoren en de ruïne (al dan niet met alle brokstukken nog bij de kerk) een bekende homo-ontmoetingsplaats was. Ergens in de 18de eeuw hebben er in Utrecht ook processen plaatsgevonden waarbij er tientallen mannen zijn berecht en ter dood zijn gebracht. Bij de domtoren ligt een plakkaat ter gedachtenis aan de Utrechtse Sodomieprocessen.
