Gorman, Don Bosco and DLS used to have it. Some of it has to do with the discipline and work ethic kids at private schools are immersed in: in the classroom and in the weight room and the film room. No offense to the quality public schools in AL (or TX, like DVille), but they have not seen the likes of MD. Wouldn't mind a Hoover matchup, though. Not terribly far from where I live in NC. They got their own individual schedule. Not to mention they got some of the best facilities in the country. I’m literally playing Thompson next week and those boys are straight up different. All theses comments about Auburn high not being ranked in Alabama, Auburn high was ranked #3 in the state of Alabama they losted to The #3 team in Alabama, Central high school . Last year Auburn high played in the 7A state Championship vs Thompson,, but bad play calling by the Head Coach towards the end of the game cost Auburn high to that State Championship . Auburn skocked Thompson High School from the opening kickoff . Thomas High was the #1 team in Alabama and won The State Championship last year and just like IMG . Every team that they played against they blew that team off the field . Auburn high lead the game 28-19 with 1:29 in the 4th Quarter , but bad play calling by their Coach to take a knee from the shotgun cost them a loss of 5 or 6 yard each team the quarter took a knee . Then a slow punt got blocked Thompson ran it back for a scoop and score . Then a onside kick Thompson recovered it . Auburn high's Coach that they had last year is no longer there left three timeouts on the board . He shouldn't have had their Quarterback take a knee 3 times each one from the shotgun not under center like you should do the football stays there no yardage lost . And he knew the inside kick was coming didn't use a timeout to get his players adjusted for it. One side of Auburn's players only had 3 on the side thst Thompson kicked it to . Thompson recovered it . Two pass interferences and they were at the 30 yard line . Thompson kicked a field goal with 4 seconds left and won the Alabama 7A State Championship vs Auburn high School. And the New Caoch that they have now is committed to get them a State Championship as well as having Auburn high football team ready for any challenge that comes their way .So when I read something that someone that makes a comment about the Game Auburn high Vs IMG Academy and make bad comments about Auburn high . It really opens my eyes to how little people know about football or Alabama let along about Auburn high Football . Auburn has been to the Alabama state Championship before so playing tough competition is no stranger to them . They have always had a great Football program and the schools is know for the amazing student Athletes.they state championship that were won by the baseball that have won aleast 3 or 4 state Championships, 2021 State Champions to be exact. But I do agree that IMG needs to play more 7A schools In any state. I know of aleast 4 football high School teams in Alabama that could beat IMG Academy and Auburn almost did. So I'm proud to be a Auburn tiger and Alumni. And we are not under the radar we have surfaced along time ago. Auburn high School showed the High School football Nation that they can and will continue to compete on a level of competition just as competitive as any team that steps on any football field against them .
