You had me at “orchids” of the carnivorous world. I love growing flowers. I love the idea of mixing this plant with other plants in my collection. I am thinking of trying them with my restrepia or pleurothallis in general which are plants that also require low minerals when watering. Which type of urticularia are the most adoptable?

That is awesome!! Bisquamata, subulata, are great and are like weeds. Longifolia is a weed as well and very adaptable. Plus it get half dollar sized flowers that look like purple orchids!

I don't have any of these but would very much like to try them in my pond and freshwater aquarium

They are amazing. Gibba, inflata, macrohiza, Purperea. There are a ton of aquatic plants and you can do several terrestrials too.

My question is what about temperate range and dormancy? I have a utricularia bisqumata hitchhiker in my bog planter currently. I got it from California Carnivores with my Sarracenia purpurea x Adrian slack. And I live in zone 6b. And know that utricularia probably be tricky repotting as you can't really see if I got all the underneath parts

Hey!! They can handle a very large range of temperatures 35 -100 f. No dormancy required. Yeah it would be very difficult to repot and get all of it. You can definitely take a pinch of the stolons and replant into another pot but it would be hard getting all of it out. I don’t mind it for sure. I like having the little flowers pop up everywhere!

@Carnivorousplanthelp I'm not concerned with it being in my planter. I actually like it in my planter. I'm just not sure it'll survive winter outside. We can get as cold and negative degrees at times but usually winter temperatures are 20-30s

Ummm it should be fine. What you can do just to help ensure success is take a small pinch and put it in a pot. That way you grow a new colony just in case the one in the pot dies. It’s not likely but just in case.
