I've been a fan of Utsu-p for a LONG time, and I'm very into both his old and new works, but this is likely because I'm old enough and have such a varied taste in music that such shifts hardly surprise me. If they were /bad/ songs, it's one thing, but Utsu's newer stuff is *really good* and shows his willingness to experiment even after so long. I say it's a great mindset to have as a artist! Those who don't like it are whiney people who hate change, but change happens regardless of their wants. And I say what Utsu has been doing is good!!

3:53 As someone who’s been listening to Utsu-p for a few years now, I adore both. That may come from my wide range of music taste, I listen to almost anything in Japanese so it may just be easier for me to like both. I also haven’t see much hate or dislike towards his new songs, people loved emblem and rejection reaction in the youtube comments but I can only speak english so that’s coming from the english side of his fanbase. So from my perspective, I don’t see fans missing his older style or hating on his new one.

The consensus on Utsu’s stuff is a bit hard to tell (although I’m a bit of a newer fan, found him through Hidden Boss when it came out and have been obsessed since) but from what I can see there’s a vocal minority of older fans of his that REALLY dislike the new stuff. I think it is similar to DECO in the sense a lot of people hate when producers will get a newer, more modern sound as opposed to their older stuff. Me, personally, I don’t really understand the hate, both DECO and Utsu are two of my favorite Vocaloid producers and I really like BOTH eras of their music. Utsu’s newer nu-metal sound goes hard as HELL and I can’t be convinced otherwise. Most of this is just my opinion, though, so don’t take my word for it LMAO Love your reactions man 🫶🏼

I think in this case it all comes down to what kind of metal are you into. UtsuP has "phases" where he experiments with different styles and stick with each for a couple years. It's a significant shift and I get why some would feel alienated, but personally I think every "phase" has their own bangers that I listen religiously so it doesn't bother me much

As someone who's been a fan since the warufuzake album; while I miss him remaking his old songs and the way they sound, I LOVE his new stuff so much and I think it's crazy that people expect someone who has been song writing for almost 20 years to sound the same as when they first started. Like, sweaty that's called stagnation

@@ChaoCatto Word. I've been listening to him for almost 10 years. Love his old stuff. Would hate it if he kept releasing the same kind of metal throughout all of these years. What I also love about Utsu-P is how he continues to find ways to keep things fresh while also remaining authentic in his lyrics. He never let go of the heavy sound either. I mean, come on, afaik Utsu-P was the first Vocaloid producer to get a song featuring a growling Hatsune Miku on Magical Mirai (2020).

i love how the screamo sounds near the end like how you can hear the screamo along with kind of hearing gumi under it and she doesn't sound raspy like vocal synth screamo sometimes does

i think he's found a new method recently to achieve the screams. theyre very similar to the ones he uses in Ga. i wonder if it's a new plugin or if he's layering it in with human screams or something like that

i would use DeepL for translation, although i would have both since there are times when both are weird when it comes to translating music lyrics. But as ive been a fan of ustuP for 9-10 years i love both versions (old and new) but i will say the ONLY thing i dislike is the Galapagos album it just felt weak to me then he came out with The Greatest Shits which is great but its just his best songs, which i get it, but i felt like after that he came back and the way he expiremented truly shows that UtsuP knows what he is doing and his songs dont miss.

I like both Utsu styles, I prefer older but I'm glad the new ones are still heavy, screams and breakdowns

There's no consensus in the fanbase at this point. There is a part that likes new stuff but prefers the old one, there is a part that strongly dislikes new stuff and prefers just old one, there's also a part that heard about Utsu-p from new songs and like them more because of a pop sound. Personally, I like both ears, but prefer more hardcore style and I don't judge people that hate his new music cuz it's kinda reasoned

most of the Russian fans that I see now, angry at Utsu-p because of a new pop style and wants old metal. IMHO both is good, but still waiting for one or two songs in old Utsu-p style
