What ever happened to having a paper trail map and actually having to know what trails to take to make a loop to get back to your vehicle? Also, why the heck do you need a factory radio on something like this? I go to the mountains to get away from that crap! Atleast it looks like Polaris has finally done some improvements that should have been done 5 years ago; captured bolts on the belt cover, stronger roll cage, and better belt life.

I just went to Jericho atv festival in Berlin New Hampshire. There had to be over 1000 rzr I didn't see one with a broken belt or broken anything! I have a yxz 1000r with 36.5 hours and it's on the second clutch and that just blew at Jericho. I only seen about 5 yxz there and mine burnt out the clutch. That's 20% of the Yamaha product at Jericho. The cockpit isn't big enough to leave your foot on the clutch I'm 6'1" and I've never burnt a clutch in my life that's why I bought the YXZ. After the first clutch I had to pay for a Barnett clutch and the recluse clutch kit to ride it in the state I bought it!!! Needless to say I will never buy another Yamaha product again!!! It's easier to change a belt on the trail then a clutch and just let me tell you that getting towed out of the woods is the worst thing for a machine you can only go in the direction that you're being towed and trails are not straight!!!!

2021 Turbo General maybe ??? :)
@ROTAXD5 жыл бұрын
No Limit RD idk if a turbo would be the way to go with the G. If it was big enough to produce real power I have the feeing that folks who work their General more than they play (trails etc) would be eating belts. I was thinking more along the lines of a supercharger...or even just a far more aggressive fuel/ignition map. Another thing that would really wake one up is a shorter engine air intake.
@woofersd23835 жыл бұрын
I don’t need a turbo. I would use a General for driving to work once in a while, plowing snow, and twice a year, heading to the Black Hills with friends. A north star edition, General, might just fit, what I need.

Impressive amount of innovation but I'm shocked that so much still went into a CVT.
@hybridamericandude35755 жыл бұрын
AZBADBOYz ......The golden rule is: Something has to give. The belt is intended to be the cost effective sacrificial part. Not meant to last forever. One must learn to use the CVT correctly, carry an extra, inspect it often, and go prepared with the few tools to replace it on the trail in 15 minutes. It’s a very small price to pay in comparison to catastrophic drivetrain repairs and ruining the entire trip.
@workhard39945 жыл бұрын
Hybrid American is that a Polaris thing? I have a 2000 and a 2006 both yamahas and never had to change belts before in there life
@hybridamericandude35755 жыл бұрын
work hard....Absolutely not. All belt problems I’ve had and my fellow riders have had regardless of brand are purely the fault of the driver and the conditions. When you ride with a bunch of nut jobs, sh!t happens. Just always be prepared to pay the price for those “hold my beer, watch this” moments. Doesn’t happen often but eventually does to someone now and then. I’ve been in this for a long time and seen some crazy things. All brands have there strengths and weaknesses. We do enjoy some friendly competition and like to go home with some good stories. The worst part of changing a belt on anything is the darn things always seem to blow at the worst possible time and place to change it out. That’s why I highly recommend inspecting them often to have some confidence that it’s worthy of the hell its about to endure.

Would like to see a metal gas fill tube and robust cap with self-sealing feature in case you tip. You would think they would have learned after all the lawsuits. Aside from broken belts, fire is the real bane of these machines. I know of two women who died horrible deaths. It happened where we ride in MOAB, UT- 2017. It all went down within literally seconds. Their P*laris tipped on it's side. The fuel fill area immediately cracked and fuel rushed out and hit the exhaust- done. They did not have enough time to get out. R.I.P. They need to invest more in safety and reliability. They can keep the radio. Those seats also look slippery and is there any cockpit intrusion material underneath? Other than that it's a very decent machine if you don't mind over paying for it.
@powderkings14115 жыл бұрын
So no antenna, no group ride. Everyone would have to have one for it to work. So that won't be used.
@UTVGuide1015 жыл бұрын
All Ride Command units can still use cell based tracking, but for the Group Rides to work without cell, you all need to have the antenna.
@mikechapin92664 жыл бұрын
Why would everyone in the group have to have one in order for those who have one to use it? Some in my riding group have two way radios, some do not. Doesn't mean those of us with the radios don't get to use them.

@@wraith511802003 CVT is a parasitic loss pile of garbage.. Do your research, the utv mfg like Polaris and Canned Ham do it because it was easy, you have a 30-40%! loss through it pus the connection to the dirt is not there. Keep riding the bandwagon, Honda and yamaha can create a machine with less power on paper but put more power to the ground. How many cars run cvt reliably? not many...Look at the recall count/TSB and other plagued issues. Why do you think a 5speed honda or any manual car will last longer,,,,think about it. BTW, these are not made up assumptions, The numbers dont lie...A gear driven (clutch) transmission has a NET KW efficiency of 80-85% on a machine with 120hp will have 90 hp useable since drive train dynamic loss is invalid bc you dont have a slipper unit, a CVT/AUTO has a NET KW of 70-74% so an engine 180hp puts down 126hp minus dynamic drive train loss so about 118hp useable............I would say Tyler is not the ignorant one here,,,unless you are a polaris fanboy with no Engineering knowledge.

Spending thousands of extra dollars on bells and whistles that you won't even use/need. I left the dealership at 17.5k for my 2019 Can Am X3 turbo. 120hp. Way better than 25k

If Polaris would focus as hard on reliability as they do creature comforts they would have a perfect machine! They remind me of Ford trucks. Nice comfort and features but terrible reliability after several years of use.
@heydude45325 жыл бұрын
Yes it looks really cool but did they address the reliability of their brand? I highly doubt it. Polaris is the king of serving sweet sweet koolaid to the masses

Christopher Redden I was raised on brp from back before 3 wheelers even existed and when moto-ski was still around. That being said, I now own both can am and Polaris. Polaris is not the same garbage that it was 10 years ago, anything will break with a retard behind the wheel.

With 30000 km on a Polaris sportsman , coming from what I thought was a reliable Suzuki king quad - I am 100% gonna buy another polaris.

I always liked Polaris till I started riding with them. Thanks to Polaris I've seen burned belts (lots of those) ignition problems, bolts fell out of intake, tranny grenade, bad bearings @ very low miles, and a few others while as for my can am had a bad u joint and I'm on my 3rd machine. Polaris make me cringe.

It all seems great, for the money though, disappointing to see it still has a CVT system. Although it does seem better thought out compared to previous, designs. $30k though, has put it out of my range. I'll be sticking with my '16 XP1K for a long time.
@wraith5118020035 жыл бұрын
Nothing wrong with CVT works great, most the time the nut behind the steering wheel is the larger issues.

Don’t worry they’ll drop it 5k in six months when they come out with something better classic polaris. Personally I’m tired of their marketing gimmick’s

Have you been living under a rock? Polaris is famous for this. Sure everything gets better with time but not six months after you purchased one of their hyped products and then they drop it $5000. Six months later.
@cwarner2185 жыл бұрын
Holy shit snowflakes ! I actually complemented the new machine, it's a lot better than the typical Polaris "bold new graphics" that they are famous for. Personally I'd like a departure from the CVT system, although they are simple to work on, I think with as heavy as these machines are getting, and the power some sort of transmission would be better. Opinions vary...
@carlorlosky51264 жыл бұрын
polaris needs a standard trans,cvt systems are junk,yamaha yxz is the machine to beat at a much cheaper price,I have friends who own Polaris and all they do is break if you beat on them,it.s a shame

Looks ALOT like the Can Am X3. And many of the "new" designs seem like they're modeled after the X3. The rzr was "king of the hill" for many years. Those days are long gone. The industry standart now is the Can Am X3. All those neat gadgets are just smoke and mirrors to make up for the fact that rzr will never complete with X3 in the most important category: engine & HP.
