Yamaha has done an incredible job of delivering more performance for the dollar than any machine in the Sport/Utility segment with the 2024 Wolverine X2 1000. Do you agree or disagree?

Take it from somebody who has owned multiple Polaris‘s and Can-Ams. If you buy any of those instead of this wolverine or Rmax, good luck. Everything that I bought from Polaris and Can am was absolute junk.

Nice video! This new X2 is exciting to me! The suspension change is what I really wanted to see. The 1000 cc engine is icing on the cake. This will be my next SxS.

That's exactly how we felt! We had wished the 850 Had a similar suspension set up to this when we first reviewed it. This was everything we wanted for the 850 plus all that extra horsepower!

Nice review. Well put together. Videography is exceptional as well as the commentary. I have a 2022 Rmax 2 special edition as it’s called up here in Canada and I’m still loving it. I recently had a drive in the commander xtr and I have to say it drives like a tank, sorry (not sorry) if this hurts some peoples feelings out there but the truth sometimes hurts. Also the general 1000 looks and drives extremely well but it sounds like it’s about to fall apart when driving it with all the rattling and the belts are garbage. Have friend with these machines and they will attest to it. Cheers from Nova Scotia Canada. Just waiting on hurricane Lee to make an appearance here in a few days.

Really glad you enjoyed the video. While you are a little more critical of the competition than we are,🤣 we obviously feel yamaha is the top dog in the class right now. Glad to hear You are enjoying your RMAX.

A lot of people complain that the noise level (in cab) is too loud. What do you think?
@novascotiaboy.9191
@novascotiaboy.9191 Жыл бұрын
@@kdkragt I had an 800 teryx Kawasaki, 2014 for 8 years and it was loud. The Rmax may be a little louder but not much it’s a different sound then the 800. We wear our helmets all the time so I can’t say that I notice it to much. All side x sides are loud especially when you get up in the 1000 class. Meandering along it’s fine at speed it’s a bit loud. The ride quality is well worth the noise factor in my opinion. Some people have been changing the clutch weights to reduce the RPM’s which quiet them down some. If your looking for a quality built machine and don’t want a strictly sport machine the Rmax comes highly recommended. But keep in mind it’s a sport/utility and in that class it’s an awesome rig. Hopefully this helps.
@UTVonDemand
@UTVonDemand Жыл бұрын
@@kdkragt It is similar to a sport side by side especially if you're on the gas. The can-am commander is quieter Do in part to the fact that the clutching keeps the engine running on the peak of the torque curve instead of the peak of the horsepower curve. This in turn makes the commander feel slower especially on steep hills. We wear helmets so we do not find it unbearably loud at all. I recommend you try one on, start it up and see how it sounds.

Too bad they couldn’t just put the 1000 in the regular x2. That’s why I never bought the X2 because it was too under powered. I thought if they put a bigger engine in I’d buy one. Didn’t expect a $5000 Canadian increase in price. Guess I’ll just keep my quads.
@UTVonDemand

The 1000 engine has too much performance for the 850's suspension platform. Unless you just want a big engine to tow heavy things around on the flat.

Great review with alot of good infos👍 Yamaha chose the right segment. I am 45 y.o. dont want a Cf moto zforce 1000 sport or a segway fugleman! But now there's the Wolverine x2 1000. My first atv was a Yamaha champ 100 cc that I've got at my 9 y.o. birthday...and then the blaster and the Banshee twin 350. Historically, for me, this thing is sold! Anyone want a Renegade 2020 1000R xxc 😄

As the former owner of a very nice banshee and current owner of a blaster, we are as excited about the X2 as you are. It hits the mark on so many levels for so many people. It just seems like a great machine at a lower price than most. We love it.

That super thick seat belt latch smashed between the center console and my hip is the biggest problem with these and the R-Max. After only one hour of riding I had a bruise and sore for a week. I threw the factory belts in the trash and put in a set of harnesses after that first ride. Granted I'm not skinny by any means, but I wouldn't call a 42" waist exceptionally large either

I have a 2022 rmax2 1000, 600 miles and it’s been great except, I’ve gone through 2 sub woofers!! Idk if this is a flaw with Ssv works, Yamaha design where they chose to place the sub or both? Not paying a grand for a new one and options for a new sub are pretty non existent unless it’s custom! I’ve treated my machine like a baby, hardly gotten the machine wet and I’m very upset with Yamaha and them choosing ssv works!! Very frustrating Yamaha!! Shame on you! I expected better!!

Had this been available when I bought my RMax I do believe that I might've just bought this instead. Ii like the sloped hood better and it looks like the headlights would light up the sides of the road pretty good, the RMax does NOT light up anything on the sides

Did you guys think it felt tippy at all in the rocks? Or tippy in general? I caught that from another video and wondered what your take is on the stability of the vehicle.
@UTVonDemand
@UTVonDemand 11 ай бұрын
HOnestly we found it to pretty stable and predictable. All of the experienced editors on hand for the press ride felt the X2 handled rather well. Sounds like someone got in over their skill set. It's not quite as good a rock crawler as the RMAX, but it is by no means bad or incapable.

Higher shock mounts means welding maybe even adding braces, longer A-arms means longer axles, I wonder if the A-arms mount in the same locations? Sound kinda expensive 🤷🏼‍♂️

We would almost lean toward the X2. The sightline out of the front is a little better and being more compact. It should be easier to maneuver in tighter spaces. We would recommend checking out yamaha's accessories to see if you have as many options to winterize the machine. If you have any other questions please hit us back.

Back when ATVs were all the rage I owned Polaris. No complaints about their machine from back then but when doing my research everything I found always came back to Yamaha. Reliability was my main focus and Yamaha has a lot less complaints (from what I could find) than any other brand. So saying "it's just a Yamaha" is like saying Ford Dodge and Chevrolet are just car company's. Drive one, you won't be disappointed.
