Im a Solihull boy, born and bread, but have been working as a teacher in a School in Essex for a long time now. For years the students I teach, who are all W Ham, Spurs and Arsenal fans, completely dismissing Villa as a team, despite me trying to educate them! Wow, how things are different now. When I get the inevitable question of "what team do you support, Sir", Im getting such a different response, such as, "class team", "what a job Emery has done" etc. To top it all off, my 11 year old son is a massive Villa fan, despite being the only Villa fan in his school. He's got lots of stick in his short life, and i was so worried that he may switch to a London club, but now he's loving it! UTV

I look at and hear my son buzzing at being a fan I dreamt he would be…years of telling him things will get better one day and its better to support a team that dreams of winning cups and trophy’s, not just expect that their team should win them. Right this very moment has to be the very best time of my life as his dad…my girls have no interest but my passion for supporting my club and country lives on in him, that’s awesome. To be able to watch the continuing rise of our once great club... it's fantastic. I've been a Villa fan all my life, I saw the semi-final win in '82 at Villa Park as a young lad (standing on a milk crate). And to see the team performing once again as I always wanted them to play.. to experience the surge of excitement of a Champions League game, that music, the atmosphere.. it's what football is all about.. The beautiful game at it's very best. And now its ours to experience.. ours to enjoy and ours to take all the pleasure from. Villa's rise over the last 5-ish years have been one of the highlights for everyone to see.. but as a Villa fan, it's special. So very special.. RIP Gary Shaw.. total legend

Loved your assessment of the villa and being a fan....we really are in a beautiful place as a club at the moment and it feels like it's just the beginning with our maestro in charge conducting the villa orchestra. Listening to talksport and Alan Brazil wax lyrical about villas performance in Europe just sends shivers down your back. We are finally getting a bit of richly deserved recognition from the media. Maybe, just maybe they might start putting us in the title race talk come xmas, especially if City get a points deduction. We weren't street wise or savvy enough last season in europe. This season we are. We've ditched the high line which was seriously exploited by technical foreign sides. Our mf and forward line is now stacked with so many options
