Jamie Holding There was a comparison video between the two and the only thing that sounds similiar is the instruments. There's no singing in the chorus in david guettas song, the chorus instruments and melody is completely different, i still just don't see the similiarities.

I can see this is getting the same plagiarism comments like Heroes did. In both songs, the similarity to the song that was 'ripped off' is only in the first 10 seconds or so. If you listened to the whole song, you'd realise it's actually musically different to Ariana Grande with it's tropical vibes. This is the same frustration I feel with Heroes which, for the most part' sounded nothing like Lovers on the Sun.

Very well said! Its annoying when some people cry plagiarism if a few seconds sound similar to another song; The lyrics, chords, rhythms + chorus sound completely different in both songs. Every year in Eurovision there are a few entries that are commonly accused of copying of another song, this only happens if its a current hit. Most younger ESC fans barely listen to music before 2000, as a devoted Eurovision superfan there are usually somewhat several entries that remind me of classic tunes. Example Sanna Nielsen - Undo + Toni Braxton - Unbreak My Heart, I was surprised no one brought that up and even there's more similarities in them than Heroes + Lovers On The Sun, but as I said most youngsters nowadays don't really listen or know about 90s music, especially those born in the decade which I find despicable!

+florenna I respect your opinion but I struggle to see how Heroes is 'identical.' Firstly, It has no EDM drop which is 'David Guetta.' The chorus is far more orchestral than Lovers on the Sun. Secondly the one thing that it shares with Lovers on the Sun which is the western guitar sound eventually fades out and is replaced with strings. Even though a song may evoke a similar mood or tone doesn't mean it's identical. Heroes was written before Lovers on the Sun as well as tons of other songs with a western sound. This would mean that David Guetta committed plagiarism. All it is is a genre and other songs are allowed to have the same genre.

Tämä on todella surkea biisi ja surkean huono on esittäjäkin. On kyllä mennyt maku UMK kisasta kun näin surkea biisi pääsee kisaan mukaan. Itse asiassa koko UMK kisa on tullut tiensä päähän kun siihen ei saada hyviä biisejä eikä hyviä artisteja. Ainoa valopilkku tämän vuoden kisassa on Annica Milanin ja Kimmo Blomin biisi " Good Enough". Sillä olisi jopa mahdollisuuksia pärjätä Euroviisuissa. Koko kisa pitäis uudistaa niin että saatais hyvät biisin tekijät ja artistit kiinnostumaan kisasta. Suomesta kuitenkin löytyy hyviäkin artisteja ja hyviä biisin tekijöitä. Heidät vain pitäisi saada kisaan mukaan. Valintaprosessi pitäisi myös uudistaa niin että valittais Suomen edustajaksi sellainen biisi jolla on oikeasti mahdollisuuksia pärjätä. Viime vuoden Euroviisut hävettää vieläkin. Mikä meitä vaivaa. Suomen edustajaksi valittiin kisan karsein biisi ja huono bändi. Toivottavasti suomalaisten musiikkimaku on parantunut ja tänä vuonna edustajaksi valitaan ainoa oikea biisi eli "Good Enough".
