Just adding some educational value: UV-C is what you show in the video, and that is the disinfecting/damaging/dangerous one, which is the correct one to use, for your purpose. There is UV-A, UV-B and UV-C. It is good to know that "Black Lights" sold for entertainment either emit no UV-C light (or if they do emit some, it should be small enough that it is harmless and are safe for non-exterminating purposes). So anyone buying a UV Light, be sure you are buying the right kind, for the right purpose. Either as disinfectant or as entertainment/bug-attractant.

I strongly advise against plugging it in until you've got it covered -- never look at that light! 254nm light is a really bad frequency to look at. Also it will slowly destroy plastic and convert it into weird byproducts. I suggest a small, narrow ceramic vase, a tall ceramic glass, or something like that. I use these in all my aquariums, on top of other filtration. It does great things for water quality and clarity, but I cringe when I see people turn it on in full view.

Floating plants seem not do very well in closed tanks with high humidity as my paludarium and aquarium gardens. Though, I've been still experimenting with them and seems to get some what better results adding slow water flow. Still to early to speak with confidence - but I will make a video about it when I get results (positive or negative) for sure.

I have videos about keeping my sustaining aquarium gardens without water changes since 2016, no man-made filters and no pumps, and no UV lights 🙂Here is a playlist of my aquarium care videos: kzbin.info/aero/PLM88hGt0AfGtxx0l2sr_e7ZL4uZsgrgC4 The gist of the care is culture live food right in the same aquarium with fish, have different types of aquatic plants and terrestrial plants growing with roots in water, and use the everything growing the aquarium for making fish food. That's all to it 🙂
