Thank you SO MUCH, Michael! You're such a gifted teacher! I watched every single tutorial on UVs I could find and your presentation was the only one making sense :) If you ever have time and desire, can you please create a tutorial about shader maps in Maya? Would be a nice complimentary video to this tutorial... Thanks again!

Thank you...I couldn't find the 'unfold' option, but after seeing this, I can manually unfold my UVs :D

1:20:00) Viewing mode to See UV distortion 1:23:30) Different modes to see the model THis one is a see through mode for when polys overlap 1:20:45) Move Around/Smudge Tool 1:22:05) Smooth Tool - Use the Smudge tool to move the areas around the eyes outward so you ahve space to smooth the eyes 1:23:42) Can also select specific vertices you want to relax and then relax only those vertices if you want more control than just the smooth brush 1:24:20) Cutting mouthbag and up 2 here

Any one watching in 2018? Do I need to finish all the UV's at the same time I'm doing it or can i save and comeback later?
@Nashfanfl139 жыл бұрын
Ok this is a good video but what I dont understand is after I make all the cuts and stuff and line up my UV's do I have to save it or what? like what is the next step. I wanna bring my models into UE4 but it always messes up cus of the UVs.
@swartz3d9 жыл бұрын
The UV map is saved within the file itself -- there is no other step apart from painting and creating materials.

Give your UVs names as you create them, it'll be much easier to identify them.
