Don’t leave out the fact the parents were trying to push through the police to get in the school. Parents were thrown to the ground and assaulted so that they couldn’t enter the school. That may be but in the UK as in every other Country there is not Constitutional Right to own Firearms. And the SCOTUS has a case that could make anything the DNC does unconstitutional. So why would that rush through legislation knowing that is maybe a month it could be unconstitutional? When we took out freedom from the UK the Founding Fathers discussed all types of political systems. They framed a Constitutional Republic where the Goverment was limited in its power. There is not enough support to amend the constitution about guns or Abortion. America is changing. Add to that the idea that you winning the popular vote or not just doesn't matter. In America it is how Many States you can win in everything that effects the Nation. From electing the President to Amending the Constitution. No one had an Assault Rifle. He had a Semi Auto AR-15 that is not an Assault Rifle. If you want to get in the issue learn the issue. An Assault Rifle is a weapon that fires on Semi Auto. One pull on shot. On 3 shot or one pull 3 shots. And full auto. This is not a forearm issue. We had the same weapons availability before 1980 and before then there were no kids killing kids. What we need to look at is what has changed in the America Society between 1980 and now. Look at the Culture changes the destruction of the American Family Mon Dad kids. The ending of most social structures Scouting Church Boys Clubs Girl Clubs. This is not a gun issue but a Culture issue. I think guns and shooting them CAN be a hobby... there are many great sports in that field. However, in most European countries you can join a "shooting club" where you have tournaments BUT you are not allowed to take the weapons home with you! They stay safely locked at these facilities...!

The statement from Ted Cruz about people coming from all over the world to live in the greatest country on earth is outright false. I am Australian, with free healthcare, where even gunshots fired makes top of the news headlines, universal unemployment benefits (weirdly we still get jobs), effective workplace safety laws. The only people wanting to get citizenship in the USA now are either very rich or very poor. No middle-class person of any ancestry is looking to live in the USA. I once dreamed of holidaying there but even that appears too dangerous now. I would feel safer taking a holiday in Iran.

After seeing the response to what happened at Sandy Hook Elementary. Nothing is going to change. This reminds me of Marilyn Manson's old records that he put out in the 90s and early 2000s, and I'm not a fan of Manson as a person. I just like the music made at those times, and the one thing he is right about is that Americans love their guns and their god more than they love their own children.

You got it!! Jenk; you got it. Inaction - doing nothing is tantamount to saying this is good, this is acceptable, and this is how we want things to remain. It’s okay that mass shootings happen regularly. It’s okay that school children get blown away - it’s tragic and all but all we will do is have a moment of silence at the next big sporting event, offer prayers and condolences to the victims and their families and then go back to business as usual. ….until the next massacre. And then we do it all again. Groundhogs’ Day of the macabre.

The police did their job to the letter. As courts upheld again and again it’s not the police officers job to protect you. It’s their job to keep you in line. Even while your child being executed in front of you.

@Hoffman-Creations

@@lolbro6942 I don’t think we need cops at all that’s my point exactly I’m glad that people are finally starting to catch on. Would you like me to send you different Supreme Court rulings from different states and different federal courts tell you it’s not a cops job to risk their life for your safety? Because the idea that police are there to protect you is an old wives tale. Anytime that you’re talking about defending them they start holding your safety and your protection over your head but according to the courts that’s not their job. It’s been upheld as legal and not punishable, when the suspect only has a knife and the cop has been holding a door closed preventing victims from escaping in the New York subway.

I have to agree after living in a country in the middle east for 6 months. People said aren't you afraid? I could walk those streets myself at night and didn't have to worry about being shot, raped or mugged! Can I say the same here no! If I spoke a foreign language I would probably have left this country, you also get medical care in other countries, you also get upper level education. It's the people running some of these countries is the problem.
