As an officer myself I'll say this. It doesn't take the numerous hours of cqb, tactical, firearms, or whatever training to get this done. It doesn't take SWAT, Incident Command, and medical resources on standby. It takes the ability to walk and pull a trigger on a loaded gun. That's it. If you can't accept dying a hero over living a coward, there is no room for you in this profession.

There is a difference legally and in training from military to a police officer. I’ve known Barney Fife types. Because they are different is why the Supreme Court upheld DC Appeal Court ruling that officer have no specific legal duty to protect. They aren’t military with your training and contractual commitment to put your life in the line. Some do but it’s not legally required. They are certainly cowards or morons though

What happen in Uvalde has nothing to do with cowardice and the whole situation brings up a very important point and it goes across many professions is the mentality/readiness to perform a job in a stressful/emergency situation. For instance a medical student does not have the capabilities to be a doctor if they freeze the moment they see a patient collapse and cannot immediately go into assessment mode. The person can be an excellent student with perfect scores in exams but if the person does not have the mental capacity then all the book knowledge will not be of any help. Uvalde is an issue of lack of training and BAD recruitment policies. In the USA there should be psychometric testing/assessments for certain professions specially those involving the welfare of society. But what can one expect? when there is active recruitment of military reserves with a past history of anxiety, depression and suicide attempts with hospitalization. Incredible but it is taking place people with mental/emotional instability getting into positions that require making stressful decisions that will impact others in society. Uvalde is the tip of the iceberg in the hiring/training policies across many professions that impact USA society. But such is the mentality in the USA letting people graduate and practice important professions that impact peoples life with a C average score or "affirmative action legislation" let in someone without the ability/capability/talent in order to fulfill the quota.

A little boy who was in the room hiding said that at one point, police called out through the walls for any survivors to shout for help so the officers would know there were survivors to rescue. A little girl responded, crying out for help. When she did so, the shooter walked over to her and shot her. So I find it very hard to believe that the officers in the hallway thought the shooter was barricaded alone.

Its as if everyone in those rooms were sacrificed for the sole reason of keeping the shooter blocked off in the room with no escape! And as for those men in the corridors outside the room to claim they did not know children were in their dead and dying, its a school within school hours, what are the chances children might be in the rooms? Its a big fucking chance if you use your brain, and are they trying to claim that no one in the corridor managed to get a quick look through the glass window on the door, or even from a window outside for over an hour!! In that hour how many times could someone sneek up or run around to the outside for a look? But not only that why did no ask the office staff at the school, they would have know what teachers and what students would be in those rooms at that time of day!! I heard that as officers turned up they were sent on crowd control, in other words go keep the other children and teachers out of the way by either confining them or evacuating them, i can just imagine those cops ignoring staff who wanted to help by giving valuable information, things like who was in those rooms, how many, if keys were needed, i bet they was rushed off to a safe place! The communication was terrible, i also heard that not only did 7 of the 8 forces that attended their radios did not work inside but also the school responder who works at the school and is their for this exact thing his radio only worked when he left the buildings, whats the point in that!!

Because for the last 25 years the only thing cops have cared about is petty, victimless crime enforcing, and them going home at night. Not only did anyone paying attention expect the profession to become this after decades of uselessness and self preservation, the police themselves went home thinking "we did a good job, this is what the public wants us to do". Because no matter what they do, massive swaths of the population congratulate them on making it home to their cozy pension above all. They are a liability at this point, they exist to protect themselves, which defeats the supposed purpose of them existing at all, when you asking for help is just as likely to get you harmed, killed, or arrested in the process.

That being said, I have also been through police training and am aware that they are heavily educated in these types of scenarios. It isn’t solely the fact that they didn’t shoot on the spot, but the fact that they didn’t even know who was in charge, the chief threw his radio down in order to “run faster,” the number of lives they could’ve saved by using their heads, etc. While I’m very aware that they are trained to make critical decisions on a dime, I am also aware that nothing can emotionally prepare someone for a scenario such as this. They can, however, and are trained to give and take clear and direct orders under pressure. They are also aware that their job isn’t rainbows and butterflies. Retired Police officer from NY. This is the WORST failure in the history of law enforcement. I was a 9/11 first responder and what I witnessed and was involved in on that day was pure heroism from NYPD and all LE on scene/FD/Ems and even many civilians. Everyone that I have worked with in my career would have taken that door with me, all knowing that one of us might not make it out. That is the oath we took. What we are witnessing from all the body cam footage is pure cowardice. They can try and blame bad communication but they knew what happened in the classroom down to the offices wife being shot. 10+ agencies from local/state and federal agencies and in an active shooter scenario where injuries/casualties every second counts and they waited 4200+ seconds(think about it as 4200 seconds.) Beyond disturbed that the first 3 officers who were shot at retreated for cover, but didn’t immediately formulate a plan and execute it instantly. I can go on and on about this failure. It just hurts to see brothers in blue not do what their training has taught them to do in an active shooter. The answer of why didn’t they act seems simple. They just didn’t have the balls to take that door and eliminate the threat. I am heartbroken for all the children/teachers tragically lost and their families.

And that's still true today -- elimination of the threat is by far the highest priority, with as much resources dedicated to that as the situation requires. Providing aid to the wounded is a distant second unless there are additional, unneeded human resources beyond what the threat requires. Simple logic explains this process, thus the hallway video shows that the first responders were not considering the greater good that day, but instead chose to look out for their own well-being.

If they're not willing to risk it all for kids' lives, they have reduced the profession to that of a tax collector. This particular guy became a barricaded shooter because he was allowed enough time to do so. 3 officers could have breached and overwhelmed the suspect with minimal team training, which it appears this dept does not do well enough or at all.. Dozens of officers were walking around with no organization, SOP execution, or action(because no one who was willing to act knew wtf was happening). He had him in his sights and didn't take the shot...... Just a giant sh*tshow all around. Good summary. The lessons learned on this AAR could be a mile long, because not much was done right. Mike, the full video has been leaked and is on full display for anyone to watch, if you can. Personally, as a retired LEO for a large CA Sheriff's Department with 22 years of service, I am disgusted with what I saw on that video. These officers retreated from the sound of gunfire and stood around in safety for 77 minutes while you can hear the screams and repeated shots by the shooter. This was never a "barricaded" suspect situation. These responding officers fell back on their basic level of training as we all do in a crisis situation. Unfortunately, their basic level of training was nothing. These officers failed the fundamental test as a police officer. Will you give your life to save others. This is what we are sworn to do, if necessary. Yes, the first couple of officers through that door may get shot but it's the overall violence of action and overwhelming suppressive fire that will ultimately kill the shooter. You go to the sound of gunfire and you dont stop until the shooter is dead. This is especially true when 3rd and 4th graders are being slaughtered by high power rifle fire. Uvalde should be a wake up for every officer out there who isnt fully engaged and honest about the realities of the job. It doesn't matter where you work as a cop, small town or major city, the time may come for you to defend a innocent civilian with your life.

Or do you think it was just cowardice? I ask because of course many see it as them be cowardly, and I ponder on if we might see more of these type of actions from officers in the future. I probably just read into stuff too much, but I would think there has to be some cause and effect that comes into play regarding all of the hatred, regulations, restrictions and et cetera. I am a retired LEO and veteran. The problem we had and still have in Law Enforcement is not the training but that the majority can not think on their feet. Most have no decision making ability. Most can not distinguish between a lawful order and an unlawful order! There is no Chief, D.A., or politician that has the authority to tell a L.E.O. to stand down while a crime is being committed in their presence. L.E.O.'s authority comes from state law! The problem is that most L.E.O.'s do not know the law. Yes, they know the laws that they deal with on an everyday basis but most do not know where their authority derives. Most do not know of malfeasance and nonfeasance, and the difference. Most L.E.O.'s blindly follow orders through ignorance and a fear of retaliation or retribution after the fact. Most officers in this country have been properly trained but unfortunately are cowards to carry out that training and their duties when a SHTF plays out in the real world. There was a time in history when L.E.O.'s were like you military types. Type A personalities that could conduct business when necessary. Unfortunately, affirmative action and political correctness took over and now many people being hired should not be there. There was no purpose for the shields in this incident! Your weapon and aggression is your shield! Get your ass in there and stop the killing!

Affirmative action, etc. are not the reason those officers failed... It was entirely their own lack of integrity and initiative. Yes, the culture in LE has changed to cause officers to fear litigation, or retributions from higher based on too strict adherence to policies, but this failure - at its base - is entirely the fault of those officers. Be pissed all you want at whomever, but do not absolve those on scene from their responsibilities as either LEOs, citizens or humans.

We now have the: 1. The time stamped video 2. The Texas government written report 3. The Chief, DPS testimony at the Texas Senate hearing 4. The ALERT report These events occur stunningly fast. 100 rounds fired in the classroom in a few minutes. A 3 man team went down the hall to breach within minutes of the Bad Guy entry. When he fired through wall/door, they ran. The ALERT report BTW was wrong on an officer asking permission to shoot. What we're left with is a perfect example of 'target fixation'..... 376 officers couldn't 'see' 2 unlocked doors or 4 windows into the 2 joined classrooms. Luckily, the shooter stayed in the classroom and didn't go down the hall to more classrooms. Sadly, Congress hasn't addressed the systemic issues and is not developing programmatic countermeasures for future events. Read about the Virginia Tech shooting.

A 9/11 call came in from a teacher _before_ the shooter had entered the school. She knew he had a gun so perhaps he had been shooting at the outside of the building before he tried entering. Prior to that he shot at two people who came to help him after he crashed his grandmother's car in a field adjacent to the school's field. The cops weren't there when the initial shooting took place at 11:33 AM but you certainly would think they could have detained him for shooting at two people outside, before he was able to get close enough to the school. They arrived a few minutes after the initial shooting inside the school. Three cops tried to approach the classroom and were shot at. They retreated. One tried to get close to the classroom again but nobody followed him for backup so he retreated. Then the husband cop (one of the first three on the scene) of the teacher who had been shot was disarmed and detained by his fellow officers never to be seen on surveillance footage again. Collectively, they finally breached the classroom an hour and seventeen minutes later at 12:50 PM.

Question (since you might know the answer) - why would a police officer ask for permission to shoot when he had the murderer in his sights? I've literally watched American police officers murder civilians by shooting them in the back, by choking them to death (and laughing at them as they died (Tony Timpa)), by executing them with a rifle as they begged for their life (Daniel Shaver), and so on and so forth, and in every single case the police officer is found to have done no wrong and either continues to be a police officer or retires with full pension. If police officers can choke Tony Timpa to death (and laugh while they do it) and execute Daniel Shaver with a rifle as he's crying and begging for his life and get away with it, why the fuck wouldn't this officer assume he could get away with killing a mass murdering school shooter? The whole reason these men have the lives, homes , vehicles and comforts they do is because that city keeps them employed to prevent and end such situations. The fact that these people have sucked a paycheck off the city for who knows how long, for a chief that probably fought for bigger budgets for more training , more equipment and more over time and did absolutely nothing is a crime. Everyone makes mistakes but for the chief and every officer under him to fail to respond and even run, ya can’t help but wonder what was really going on.

A whole bunch of society (as in not just government employees) who were paid to handle these sorts of crisis situations threw their hands up and said "this is really hard". Great commentary. 20 years ago the Columbine teacher Dave Saunders was shot and bled out before help arrived. You would think after 20 years we would learn our lesson... apparently not. I was not aware of both female teachers were alive when finally transported...so that means once again we lost two teachers that likely bled out because of lack of assistance,...and almost a third from the male teacher that *did* survive. At least one student was confirmed to also have bled out according to a survivor (and the deceased student's parent). The male teacher was critically wounded and watched his entire class being slaughtered in front of his eyes..and now is being rightfully *very* vocal about how badly this was handled. Not only from his injuries, but his psyche itself will never be the same again. This event was just an absolute disaster in every way imaginable.

I enjoyed your analysis of the clusterf*ck we saw at Uvalde. You made one comment that I disagree with and that is the budget cut as playing a part in this mess. They were told. From the Texas House report: BORTAC Acting Commander Paul Guerrero came to the north side of the building upon his arrival at Robb Elementary. In a post-incident statement, he said he was advised “that the subject had possibly shot multiple children and was still in the classroom.” Anonymous supervisor trying to cover up BORTAC’s failure. Timing and details of that information being leaked to Mike was wayyy too convenient especially given how inherently unbelievable it was. Also made clear they weren’t told to stand down by Arredondo nor at any point did BORTAC defer to him as the on scene commander. CBP is embarrassed and engaging in some major CYA.

I'm on board with most of this breakdown - I agree the initial cadre of responding officers (at least 4 I could see) that were initially shot at - should have engaged and saved many lives. I also agree that the officer who was texted by his shot wife is the biggest coward of them all - she's literally down the hallway - he knows she's been shot - and he DOES NOTHING - and allows himself to get relieved from the situation altogether - just mindblowing to me - I don't agree that the Border Patrol folks should be let off the hook for "not knowing" anything and wasting another 1/2 hour standing around. How can you be on scene for so long and not ask the simple questions?? That would have been number 1 priority prior to engaging is to gather details as to what we should expect behind that door. I don't believe these officers were unable to gather that information. Everyone in this scenario is derelict of duty and should be punished - you are in an ELEMENTARY SCHOOL during school hours - multiple officers on scene within 2-3 minutes - and know exactly where the shooter is - just horrific and unacceptable all around. Many lives lost this day that were completely avoidable

100% correct. The three officers that retreated at 11:36am had another officer with a long gun right at the end of the hall. They should have made a plan right there to enter the room and eliminate the threat. End of story All this “training” nonsense, they were trained and one of the officers who retreated was the swat commander An active shooter scene can’t just turn into a barricaded subject. He was in the room with the victims who were bleeding out and needed immediate care now not 4,200 seconds + later! The biggest failure in law enforcement history happened in Uvalde. How many times was that kid reported to law enforcement and FBI? He made a video saying he was going to do it, and nothing happened. He could be seen approaching the school with a rifle, and nothing happened. He starts shooting, and nothing happens. Finally after an hour law enforcement actually does something and apprehends the kid, and during his questioning is offered soda and chips. Then he tries to pretend he's insane while on camera. That Parkland shooting could of, and should of, been prevented weeks before it happened, but no, it was allowed to happen. Just following orders is no longer an acceptable excuse. It hasn't been since Nuremberg. You wouldn't confiscate the Parkland shooter's weapons after multiple complaints, what will you do when ordered to confiscate law abiding citizens firearms? Show up in pre dawn raids dressed to the 9's kicking in doors and killing pets? You just try it.

The US Supreme Court has made it clear that law enforcement agencies are not required to provide protection to the citizens who are forced to pay the police for their "services." In the cases DeShaney vs. Winnebago and Town of Castle Rock vs. Gonzales, the supreme court has ruled that police agencies are not obligated to provide protection of citizens. In other words, police are well within their rights to pick and choose when to intervene to protect the lives and property of others - even when a threat is apparent. In both of these court cases, clear and repeated threats were made against the safety of children - but government agencies chose to take no action. A consideration of these facts does not necessarily lead us to the conclusion that law enforcement agencies are somehow on the hook for every violent act committed by private citizens. This reality does belie the often-made claim, however, that police agencies deserve the tax money and obedience of local citizens because the agencies "keep us safe." Nevertheless, we are told there is an agreement here - a "social contract" - between government agencies and the taxpayers and citizens. And, by the very nature of being a contract, we are meant to believe this is a two-way street. The taxpayers are required to submit to a government monopoly on force, and to pay these agencies taxes. In return, these government agents will provide services. In the case of police agencies, these services are summed up by the phrase "to protect and serve" - a motto that has in recent decades been adopted by numerous police agencies. But what happens when those police agencies don't protect and serve? That is, what happens when one party in this alleged social contract doesn't keep up its end of the bargain. The answer is: very little. The taxpayers will still have to pay their taxes and submit to police agencies as lawful authority. If the agencies or individual agents are forced to pay as a result of lawsuits, it's the taxpayers who will pay for that too. Oh sure, the senior leadership positions may change, but the enormous agency budgets will remain, the government agents themselves will continue to collect generous salaries and pensions, and no government will surrender its monopoly on the use of force.

When I was in the Army, it was required that you have the mindset that if your leadership is out of action for any reason, those led by that soldier would take initiative and continue the mission. The Assistant Team Leader would step up and lead and if they didn’t, one of the other teammates would. It was also taught that when you have a lack of orders from command, you’re free to decide yourself to do what you see needs done, as a leader. Using the Uvalde shooting as an example: The Chief wasn’t doing anything, not saying anything, not engaged with the officers in any way. In that case, the officers present should have made the decision themselves to deal with the shooter. To go and check the door to see if it needed breached by tools or if the doorknob was unlocked. Had those officers taken it upon themselves to end the situation with all possible haste, we’d be talking about a completely different story. The chief might still be on the chopping block, but the rest of that situation would have been handled. It’s sad to see how this all turned out.

These guys should be hunted down like dogs and hung in the streets as an example. Their families should be forced to watch and bare their shame for the rest of their lives. They should be stripped of anything of value and left to start over with nothing. That is justice. Because we have long since been without justice in this country. Holier-than-thou pacifists call it revenge and vigilante. It's justice. The idea of a jury of peers wasn't to allow some people disconnected from the incident to "judge fairly." It was to ensure a just sentence for misdeeds by those CLOSEST to the trauma. To allow those affected to have a say in the sentences. They started this nonsense about fair juries and unbiased as a way to ensure the most corrupt are never convicted and if someone dares cross the most corrupt they are buried. That's it. If I'm murdered I want my family to decide the fate of the murderer. Someone who has skin in the game. A jury of PEERS. So if vigilante is all that's left...bring back the wild west.

With his deep ties in the law enforcement community, it is my opinion that he did not want any officer casualties on his hands. He must have assumed that the shooter would run out of ammunition, or end his life. So he chose to do nothing. And now he is worse off had directed the officers to go in.

Thank you for your debrief on the Uvalde situation sir. As a father, a patriot, and a proud American, the Robb school shooting's law enforcement response makes me sick, and my blood boil. They were right there, they were armed, and they could have saved innocent children's lives....but they DID NOTHING! Instead, they stood by "battle ready" in their Gucci gear and listened, as a piece of degenerate human waste murdered children. Those that stood by and did nothing should be ashamed of themselves as humans for pretending to "serve and protect", because when the time came to get some, they sh*t the bed and failed their community, the badge, America and all it stands for, and most of all those defenseless children, God rest their souls. I agree with you on everything but I find it hard to believe bortac didn’t know the situation. I just watched all those “brave cops” with all their gear, and their guns and their armor and bullshit stand around for an hour while kids died. The ONLY thing they were doing was talking. As a former deputy for an undisclosed agency, I can say that we had firearm qualifications twice a year. Stationary paper targets. I know some agencies have annual requirements. The fact that the officer is asking permission to enter the scene and attempt to engage the subject in itself, is very troubling. I’m with you, sir. I don’t want to die, and I am guilty of being afraid in my day when I was a soldier in Iraq, but I was far more afraid that everyone would know I was afraid. There are things worse than death, and not all death is equal. I would prefer to die well and for a good cause, like saving kids as opposed to dying slow as an old man suffering everyday. That’s what I used to tell myself when I was a soldier and it has never changed. I would have gone through that door even if I had a hammer. I don’t understand a lot of what I’m seeing. I don’t understand why they turned tail and ran knowing that’s the most vulnerable you can be when running away. I don’t understand, knowing that the weapon has direct impingement and it gets hot and dirty, why they didn’t keep him shooting at them and not the kids. The weapon would have a failure at some point and I doubt that kid could trouble shoot it well without experience. Failure or not, just like suppressing a target in the military, why they couldn’t, again, keep him engaged while someone who actually had balls went trough one or all of the six points of entry. Even if they just screamed at the kid from behind the concrete block and made a bunch of noise it would have been enough to make the shooter have to pay attention to the police and not the kids. Instead they literally did nothing of consequence. There seemed to be no one with any aggressive spirit, no alphas, no bullies for a fight. No one seemed angry. Anger can be a very motivating emotion and help overcome the rational thinking that holds one back, as I’m sure you know. And they had all the advantages in arms and armor. They even had good cover. A .556 can’t go through concrete block unless you hammer it with multiple rounds. I know this for a fact. It’s not like the military went to that round because it’s more lethal, they went with it because it’s smaller and effective up to the range they knew most combat occurred and you could carry twice as much. It’s not as lethal as 7.62, but from what I’ve learned they knew it would cause a nasty wound if it didn’t hit in the right spot and either way you are out of the fight dead or horribly wounded. It’s a small round and without a penetrator (green tip) the first wall of the concrete block slows it down enough for the second wall after the inside void to stop it. So that concrete block wall was good enough cover. I just don’t understand except that they were afraid and there was no leadership to push them. Again, from experience I know having someone give you an order to move can overcome the initial reaction to hold back. Even when they originally entered the building only two of the 6-8 officers actually approached the room. They were clearly afraid, which is ok, but they weren’t pushing themselves. It’s like they were resigned to the kids bleeding out. None of it makes sense. They say there was an officer who had him in his sights before he even entered the school, and didn’t shoot. That’s all well and good, fog of war and whatnot, but he saw him go in the school, but I didn’t see the officer come hauling in after him in the video. Where did he go? How could he watch him enter and still hold back? I mean, it’s a dude with an AR and a bunch of mags. What did he think the kid was gonna do? Why on earth you’d let him get out of your sight is so beyond me, even if you are afraid, he could get a bead on that officer at any moment, the officer wouldnt know because he broke contact. Where’s the self preservation? It just seems completely inept and it just seems like cowardice. I hate to say it but that’s what it seems like from top to bottom. A bunch of cowards with cool gear. Kinda like the Russian conscripts in Ukraine. They look the part but they just can’t fight. Except the Russian conscripts at least try, so maybe they are worse than Russian conscripts.

We were wrong? The video released shows that clearly, we were right. The Uvalde police hung back and waited for someone else to do their job and take the risk for them. The Uvalde PD also claimed they had no long rifles, but the video clearly shows there were at least two officers with long rifles right from the start. The Border Patrol was the ONLY agency that took action but far too late and they still ran around in a complete clusterfck for about 15 to 20 minutes. But all the opportunities to save lives belonged to the Uvalde PD and they KNEW that children were being murdered... there's multiple 911 calls from a young child and from teachers inside the school to prove it and also proof that dispatch relayed that information to officers on scene. There is absolutely no excuse for what they did, or should I say... what they didn't do! Anyone who defends these officers and their criminal dereliction needs to work on their morals and values.

I see the exact same thing, these are not true LE officers, these are persons who are bilking the town, State, and Federal Govt. for a paycheck and all the perks that come with being in LE. If you want to get the real story, find out who and where they supposedly got their training from and who signed off on it, a pattern will emerge, someone got paid for doing training that they did not provide, and those officers were all more than happy to not have to go through the actual training, this was system wide corruption on display here.

@gtoron 2 жыл бұрын
@@jmoliere1207 All good info, my next question is, do the officers receiving the training get paid while doing the training? Are they compensated for any travel, meal, or other expenses related to getting the training? My point is, I don't believe the officers I saw in the video actually received the training they are alleged to have received, I base my conclusion on the fact that they did not perform their sworn duty, in the manner that training dictated they should have. I also saw what can only be described as a total lack of training in how they behaved in general, they all looked utterly clueless as to what needed to be done and how they should have handled the situation. Even worse, I see what appears to me, to be the willful decision by a huge amount of supposedly trained, armed and well protected LE officers to stand around and do nothing while innocent children and teachers are being slaughtered, that is not what they were trained to do. They had overwhelming numbers, one officer says he was in a position to take the shooter out, or at least stop his advance towards the school, clearly armed and intending to unleash some lethal aggression on one or more persons in the school. He radioed for permission to take the shot, and got no response, then failed to take the shot anyway, who among us would act like this? I assume getting permission is part of an established procedure, but after getting no response one way or the other, you gotta take matters into your own hands under the circumstances and stop him in his tracks, shoot him in the leg so he can't continue, or take him out completely to save as many lives as possible. There is something that we don't know about yet going on here, we may never find out because there is a massive coverup involving what happened in Uvalde.

Men like the ones who stood around as children died are a disgrace. They are what is ruining this country. And this world.

Sounds like the training at the LAPD. 2 LADP officers , fresh out of the academy could have taken that guy out immediately and would have died trying , that’s a fact, thank you so much for your service. ⚫️🔵⚫️🔵💙🖤💙🖤

Police don’t investigate crimes they do what they are told. They were told to stand down and let the news worthy distraction and slaughter take place by the monster that is in power and authority. When cops start investigating real crimes people will have respect for them. The only criminals you guys go after is thugs never high level criminals. Mafias run the world and you’re all part of it.

As a police officer, I can’t believe this was how this played out. The response of just waiting in the hallway with more firepower than you would ever need to take down one assailant, yet doing nothing, is astounding. I would expect brand new cadets in the academy to have a better response than what we saw there. You have everything with you at the time of an attack to handle it. You can’t wait for innocents to die to get more prepared. You should have been prepared before that time.

Police do what they are told. They all look around for an authority to tell them what to do. None investigate criminals on government they just take orders. This can explain everything that happened there. And everything that happens day to day in law enforcement,

This actually sets a pretty bad precedent. If police officers are going to wait around for the perfect situation or are unwilling to protect the less able in society, then independent-minded citizens are going to start taking matters into their own hands. Possibly that could be a good thing

Even if they were never "told" there were children inside they definitely heard the screaming and still stood by
