Dell AIO went from 3 minutes to boot with fast boot on to exactly 8 seconds with fast boot turned off. Throwing a SSD in my 10. Fantastic little computer that I mainly use to run Mitchell OnDemand and other car diagnostic programs. Great video.

I put windows 10 20H2 on mine a similar on which I think is a inspiron Mini 10 1010, it works but It took years to do a windows update from 1909 and it takes so much time to even click on the start menu

Oh, I still use this too! Mine has maxed out upgrades - 2GB or RAM, 512GB SSD (unfortunately not running at full speed because this computer has only SATA2), 6 cell aftermarket battery, Intel 5GHz Wi-Fi card and white lid for more blink value. Running OpenSuSe Linux + KDE desktop. This machine has the best small size keyboard ever. I have no idea why it is so good, but I can literally reach lightning speeds while typing on it. Unfortunately OS selection is damn low for 32bit CPU. Windows XP and MacOS Snow Leopard are no good because they cannot run any modern software like new browsers. Android projects went 64 bit only or have very hard to fix issues. Most lightweight Linux distributions looks like 1995 all over, all serious distributions went 64bit. OpenSuse Tumbleweed is currently best choice for this machine IMO.

full 300MB/s read and write speed?
@bbkr20632 жыл бұрын
@@jhnokayu6077 It can achieve nearly 300MB/s synthetic speed (like dd /dev/zero to file) but real usage has spikes. CPU is trash and even displaying copy progress in file manager can slow down actual copying. Probably last month of service for this faithful notebook - GPD Win MAX 2 ordered :)

@bbkr20633 жыл бұрын
None. Windows 10 is painfully slow even with maxed upgrades, Windows XP works reasonably fast but there is no modern software for it (which can be bummer for many tasks like simple web browsing). Lightweight Linux or Android OS are the only options to squeeze something out of it today.

What ssd did you use? Is it worth the price of upgrade? Dell inspiron mini 1012. I won't be installing windows
@bbkr20633 жыл бұрын
@@2u263 In mine I have Plextor. But literally any SSD will work and it completely does not matter which one you buy performance-wise because this machine only supports SATA 2 which will limit disk transfer speed to 300MB/s.

I got a brand new one free in the box from a company that was throwing out old computers. Its painfully slow. Omg. I added Win 10 to it and that made it slower.

Throw Lubuntu 18.04 on it and it’ll be much faster. LXDE is lightweight and fairly snappy.

Hey i have like the same exact laptop. Mine is a 2012 version I believe, and I have it updated. It seems to have updated close to windows 10(but i dont even know). Does getting a new ssd help it play videos like on youtube, Netflix, Hulu, etc? Because currently, my laptop won't allow netflix nor hulu to play, and it keeps stopping with trying to play youtube videos.
