Ornettes late great masterwork. Possibly his best group since his first classic quartet

Holy Grail, first of all. Coleman plays Bach!?! Or rather Tony Falanga who not only channels Izenson, Haden and LaFaro, but nails Bach pitch perfectly. This is also the best I've heard Al McDowell play,, perfectly encapsulaing Jamaldeen Tacuma, Bern Nix and Blood Ulmer.

Just doesn’t get any better than this. Saw him only once live in Pittsburgh, PA. He told us to focus more on experiencing his harmolodic music and less on trying to “understand “ it. That was a game-changer for me. Sleep with other masters, Ornette and thank you for daring to be different.

@@a.nobodys.nobody I think not, but since english isn't my language, maybe I made some mistake and/or didn't properly express my point :) I think Lovano Is out of the music and Ornette seems to be disappointed by Lovano's presence

Why was Joe Lovano even there? I would have preferred Dewey Redmond. Oh, well...

Redman, dead two years before this concert took place :) anyway Lovano was there on his own and had the idea of joining the group apparently without previous agreement with Ornette - his perfomance, in my opinion, was actually quite weak, despite his unquestionable ability and musicianship. He simply was in the wrong place (just my opinion, of course)
