THIS MAN. This man is a great inspiration to all of Africans. I admire his self service for the betterment of Africa. I am African, Kenyan to be precise. I have to admit he is well versed with history and religion. But he certainly is NOT a good model for Christians. When he references the dramatization of the life of Mahatma Gandhi by Richard Attenborough, he fosters the idea that the Bible can be compared with any other religious writings. On that he loses credibility as a Christian who believes in the inspiration and authority of the bible. Though elsewhere he has stated that he is practicing Christian who becomes more spiritual as he ages, his loose comparison of the text of scripture with any other religious writings advances the idea of universalism of which the bible is fundamentally intolerant.

You need to find a way to get your brain & heart to work to together. He asked a very important question, which was, what denominations of Christianity does Jesus belong too? Do you have that answer?? Again he said Christianity was a man made religion just like many others. Do you doubt that? Bible was not a word-to-word of Jesus. It was made-up after he left. Some prominent people who wrote the biggest part of bible, were not even alive during the life of Jesus. Especially John who wrote the biggest part of New Testament. Whose original name wasn’t John anyway. John who? There is no living Christian who knows John last name. and his name at birth was not John either. 12:52 Here is why you have more than 50 versions of Bible worldwide with contradictions. You just need to learn to listen and think without your preconceived notions blocking your heard from processing the new information. Finally who is a good model for Christian? And for what denominations of Christianity? From facts, Roman Catholic worship won’t worship in Pentecostal churches. Nor would Pentecostal churches goer worship with 7th days Adventist. One always claim to be the right one. Yet again, what denomination does Jesus belong to and which version of the Bible are his actual words & not a fictional storybook written by those that have never set an eyes on him. All other religions besides true Christianity are false religions. Only TRUE CHRISTIANITY has the answer to man's problem of sin. Salvation is by grace alone, through Faith alone, in Christ alone, according to the scriptures (Bible) alone and for the glory of God alone. 2. DENOMINATIONS in Christianity is a result of our own failure to understand scripture. But the bible is clear on its dictates upon Christian Faith and practice. Our misinterpretations lead to the divergent approaches to christian practice. Some are on the far end of the spectrum. Some are heretical and could be cults, others are heterodox on certain issues and in error therefore. True Christianity is a matter of the heart and exercising discernment, not denominational affiliations. Some denominations are actually on spot in biblical faithfulness which is where all believers ought to be. Jesus belongs to non. 3. A good model for Christianity, actually the best model is Jesus Christ. 4. Different versions of the bible are not a problem, so long as they are translations, not commentaries. LASTLY. Jesus' view of the bible is that it is inspired and authoritative. He referenced the Old Testament over 70 times in His lifetime teachings, 26 of which come from the Pentateuch. He definitely believed in the authority of the Old Testament. Those books are historically verifiable by the way. A simple reading of the OT tells you the story wasn't complete. Clearly the audience to which it was being written was expecting a fulfillment. Jesus fulfilled at least 300 prophesies in the OT. Certainly He is the Messiah. His earthly ministry manifested His deity. His resurrection proved it. The resurrection created the New Testament. What is recorded in the NT is an outflow of that belief, that Jesus is the Christ, the only Savior for humanity. Rejecting that is sin resulting in condemnation and death.
