Here is the lyrics I found with a little help :) I still miss some parts so feel free to tell me if you find out what they say and/or if something is wrong, I'm not a native speaker ! I put the time when I don't know in the lyrics Max : I hated her ! Ich : What ? Max : I never loved Rebecca. Ich : You didn't ? Max : Nor Rebecca loved me. She was vicious damnable rotten through and through. I said : I've kept my part of our damnable bargain But you've cheated You think that you can treat my house like your sinkhole in London And she got up, stretched and standing right before me, she said What would you say if I had a child Who would know it wasn't yours ? It would be mine for sure and when you died Manderley would be his I will be a perfect mother Max, like I've been the perfect wife And none will ever guess and none will ever know No I'll never forget her smile Her haunting taunting smile That's when I lost my mind I pushed her back She stumbled and fell She must have hit her head or something For when I bent down to help her up She was dead ! But she still smile(d?) I totally agree. It's especially obnoxious because the movie had one reason for its change in plot: film restrictions/censorships. If a character in a movie committed a crime, the laws of the time said he or she had to go to jail/pay some other price for it, and the movie's creators decided it was better that Maxim didn't go to jail, for that would change the plot even more. The musical obviously doesn't have that restriction, so they've got no excuse!

In the book, he doesn't go to jail either. The movie must be faithful to the book, not invent a new story. So, I'm fine with Maxim not going to jail.

Weil erstmal die Erben von Daphne du Maurier überzeugt werden mussten und Rebecca ursprünglich auch ins West End kommen sollte. Es gibt ne komplette Demo-CD mit 20 Songs, auch ein paar von Uwe (dass du das nicht weißt, wo du ihn doch seit über zwei Jahren privat so gut kennst... :-P)

No, currently there is no official translation. There is however a fan translation of the show written by me and a friend of mine. However, there will be an official translation come September when the show FINALLY premieres in London
