I wish I actually understood Chinese so that I could find more info on Xinjiang rap.... but I've been following the scene in Xinjiang for a couple years and I CANNOT BELIEVE THERE AREN'T MORE PEOPLE IN THE WORLD WHO KNOW ABOUT IT. Their scene is exploding like no other. And I'm from the Bay Area, which has been an epicenter of rap for several decades-- this is the home of 2Pac, E-40, Mac Dre, Too $hort, Andre Nickatina. Souls Of Mischief, Hieroglyphics, Living Legends, etc. And I think this explosion in Xinjiang is gonna be even bigger because all the young dudes grew up with all that US hip hop AND all the stuff from Xinjiang, and a lot of them can rap in like 3 or 4 languages. Sometimes they also collaborate with Uyghur rappers from Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan, who all rap in Russian.

維吾爾語的rap真的聽起來就是有點洋氣👍👍 I’ve never listened to rap in uyghur language but it sounds so cool!! and it’s great they incorporated traditional instruments too
