Mausoleul care adăpostește mormântul Profetului Daniel și Muzeul Afrasiab
I. Legende și câteva ipoteze sunt legate de primul obiectiv; unii susțin că rămășițele au fost aduse aici de primii creștini, alții sunt înclinați să creadă că Amir Temur (Tamerlan) a ordonat ca acestea să ajungă la Samarkand /relicvă adusă din Susa-Iran/; mai avem două diferențe de interpretare, chiar contradicții (despre înmormântarea brațului Sfântului Daniel sau aducerea unei mâini de pământ, despre apartenența rămășițelor - profetul Daniel sau Khoja Daniyar, însoțitor al lui Kusam ibn Abbas, rudă a Profetului și unul dintre primii predicatori islamici din Asia Centrală)... Oricum, în puține locuri în lume vin să se roage, deopotrivă, musulmanii, creștinii, evreii; mormântul Profetului Vechiului Testament, situat la marginea așezării Afrasiab /din nord-estul Samarkandului/, este un loc rar (venerat de adepții celor trei religii avraamice)...
II. Muzeul Afrasiab este situat deasupra sitului istoric având același nume (unul dintre cele mai mari din lume) și orașului antic distrus de mongoli la începutul secolului al XIII-lea... Așa-numita „Pictură murală din Afrasiab” sau „Pictura ambasadorilor” desemnează o frescă (se presupune că a fost pictată prin secolele VII-VIII), unul dintre rarele exemplare de artă sogdiană care a ajuns până la noi...

I. Legends and some hypotheses are connected with the first objective; some claim that the remains were brought here by the first Christians, others are inclined to believe that Amir Temur (Tamerlan) ordered them to reach Samarkand /relic brought from Susa-Iran/... We still have two differences of interpretation, even contradictions (about the burial of the arm of Saint Daniel or the bringing of an earthen hand, about the belonging of the remains - the Prophet Daniel or Khoja Daniyar, companion of Kusam ibn Abbas, relative of the Prophet and one of the first Islamic preachers in Central Asia)...
However, in few places in the world do Muslims, Christians, Jews alike come to pray; the tomb of the Old Testament Prophet, located on the outskirts of the settlement of Afrasiab (northeast of Samarkand), is a rare place (revered by the followers of the three Abrahamic religions)...
II. The Afrasiab Museum is located above the historic site of the same name (one of the largest in the world) and the ancient city destroyed by the Mongols at the beginning of the 13th century... The so-called “Mural of Afrasiab” or “Painting of the Ambassadors” designates a fresco (supposedly painted through the 7th-8th centuries), one of the rare specimens of Sogdian art that has come down to us...
