Oh I love those bronze bookends you sold! And a fire and light! That is on my bucket list to find … and a glassy baby 😝 Agree with you. It really gives you a boost to sell a couple of higher priced items. Good job on those finds Mark. Great strategy on selling similar for higher priced items. Makes sense to spend more effort on the big items .

I'm still waiting on a glassy baby too! In regards to the "higher priced sales"...Mark and I are wondering if our "other" sales have been throttled. It's been very slow outside of these higher sales. Thank you Brenda!

Hi Vickie and Mark, Thanks for the walk through The Exchange Place. Many years ago,at their bi-annual festivals I sold Everlasting Wreaths and herbs that I grew in Rogersville.( I grew the flowers for the wreaths also) The trail was not there then. I know they started working on it before I left.I never made it back to walk the trail. I'll have to check it out when I get back to visit. (I think it would be fun to walk and chat with you also). Most returns go smoothly. Then of course there are the ones that do not contact us so we can work things out. I had a customer that had items shipped to his old address.He contacted me. As soon as it was returned I sent it to his correct address. Easy Peasy. No issues. Congrats on the GREAT sales!! I had a couple this week also. One was thanks to you, I never used to pick up dishes. But noticed you pick up and sell quite a few. I learned brand names and of course comped. Sure enough! Great Sales! I buy mugs at a local thrift for .55 cents. Sell for 8.00 and up!~ The other great sale was a pair of kids racing boots. Brand new in box sold for 125.00 plus ship. I purchased for 10.00. Wooo hooo!~ Happy Spring!! Wren~

I really enjoy your videos and the information you share with your viewers. I use Pink Stuff on dishes and Barkeeper’s Friend, also. I think the Barkeeper’s friend is less likely to scratch. I also use Barkeeper’s Friend on wood, brass, stainless, porcelain and to get marks off bottoms of ceramic mugs, figurines, etc. I have been using BF for over 40 years and always have it on hand. Pink Stuff is okay, but BF is my go to polisher and stain remover for hard goods.

Yes, we love barkeepers friend. We have two types liquid and powder. And I did buy some pink. Mark does all the cleaning so he chooses what works best. I think we have the barkeepers and liquid for brass and one for stainless. Thank you!

I’ve had a couple of “not received” cases, and luckily all worked out since they were due to delayed shipping. At that low a shipping cost, I agree it’s just not worth wrangling with eBay. Block, sell similar, and be grateful you won’t have to deal with that buyer anymore😂 I always see us sellers as clients as opposed to customers. A small but distinct difference when it comes to how we’re dealt with by eBay. It affects what I buy, which is mostly vintage. I refuse to do high risk items like luxury brands and electronics - I just don’t want to deal with the headaches that come along with those type of transactions. I really enjoyed the diversity in this vlog! It was a fun watch, thank you!

We don't have any worries about selling luxury brands and electronics....because we never find any! LOL. Glad your INR cases worked out in your favor. Thank you!

It looks like Spring has sprung down there! We are still dealing with sub-freezing temps up here in NE Ohio, as you probably know. I did notice that you tried a new style with things moving around behind you--or are you floating in front? LOL Looks good. Did want to mention that despite not being willing to ship bowling balls, you might want to look at the bowling bags. Some of them can bring good money. I was surprised about that! Looking forward to hearing about your biking adventures. 🙂
@AvanteAvenue10 ай бұрын
Yes, it has. Bradford trees are in full bloom, other trees budding. As the the "new style"...yes and yes. Yes the background is moving around and yes I am floating in front. LOL. Thanks for the heads up on the bowling bag. Will keep that in mind. Thanks Lynne!

eBay has really been treating the sellers poorly in situations like this. I do BLOCK buyers like this. They COST me and my family money that we can not waste. Reporting a buyer will be the next step if possible. Oh, how, I miss the early days when both buyer and SELLER could leave feedback! Not just a response. Love the sounds of the "spring" birds in the back ground and all the beauty around you. We are in Michigan - and still seeing snow storms but we know summer isn't far off! We went to an estate sale this morning (16 degrees out) and while it wasn't a great sale - it was FUN to get out. Celebrating with you your wins!
@AvanteAvenue10 ай бұрын
Sellers can leave feedback but it's "after" the buyer leaves theirs. Not a "rating" of course, just our two cents (carefully worded). I never knew the days of leaving a negative for a buyer. Ebay is all about the "buyers." The buyers are the "customers." As I commented back to someone else for this video, sellers are just "ebay product fulfillment vendors." We are NOT ebay's customer. We have control on (most) of what we list, how we photograph, how we ship (etc) but little else when it comes to the buyer transaction. It's just the way it is. I'm happy that the majority of our sales are issue free. We do love the birds and have several feeders. As you said, Spring is coming soon....everywhere. Thank you for celebrating our wins too!
@terryjanney737210 ай бұрын
Block the buyer! And I probably wouldn’t relist the pin right away. Maybe save it for later. I like your spring walk. It’s freezing here in eastern Pa.

Congrats on your great sale! I have a bronze bookend (just the one) that I was about to list when I noticed the ear of one of the german shepherd's ear was broken 😢 now I'm not sure if I should list it or how much that hurts the value. I know that only having one greatly reduces the value already.
@AvanteAvenue10 ай бұрын
It doesn't hurt to list it "as is." What do you have to lose? Thank you Michael!

I have not used pink stuff yet. Good to know. Have you rubbed it on and let is dry and wiped it off. I find it helpful on tough scratches when using other cleaners. Pfaltzgraph made a cleaner and Corning made a cleaner at one time and I still have some. Too bad they stopped making them. A baking soda paste works on many things too. Thanks for sharing pink stuff! Will look forward to seeing what else you like using it on. As for barkeepers, I find it scratches most items including brass, copper and stainless steel. Do you find it helpful on certain items? I mostly keep it form stubborn baked on pans and to clean my old stainless sink.
@AvanteAvenue10 ай бұрын
We did not let it dry but washed right away. I didn't know about the Pfaltzgraff and Corning cleaner. We do use barkeepers on quite a few items. They also have liquid formulas that we use in addition to the powder. Love barkeepers. Mark does all the cleaning. He's the expert. Thank you!

I love you both. ❤ I’m retired and supplementing my income. A lot of my inherited items are breakables, large blenko or fragile . When do you decide a box in a box to ship? I’ve watched your packing videos but wondered when or if you use this. Love your content ☺️
@AvanteAvenue10 ай бұрын
Thank you so much! We also sell on ebay "to supplement our retirement." As to double boxes. Rarely do I double box. I have one pack and ship where we shipped, I think 17, glass plates and we double boxed. I should have double boxes a few months ago when I had one plate break. But, overall, I just pack it really well. Hope that helps and thanks for asking!

@@AvanteAvenue Thank you! That does help a lot. I believe I overthink breakables but am also attracted to them to resell. ☺️

You should be attracted to it for resell. Many resellers, pass by glassware and fragile items. We can make some decent money on it. That’s why I pushed myself past my fear of packing it, and then started sharing it with all of you.

Hi Vickie and Mark, Jayln here from Washington State! Another super video! I am thrilled for you both with your big dollar sales. It's so important to sell those high quality items for what they are worth, which helps strengthen the market for all of us. Great job of sourcing and strategy with your best offer. I enjoyed the The Pink Stuff review, too. I had just looked at that product recently and wondered about it. Thanks as always for an informative and fun video. You packed so much in this one. Happy Spring! 💐

When you end and relist your items are you changing any of the info? Also are you using sell similar? Thanks
@AvanteAvenue10 ай бұрын
I am selling similar and not changing anything. Do not do this with items that you’ve sold quantities out of it as it will relist the original quantity. That’s why I said it’s best to work with listings that have only one item. Don’t do this at all with listings with variations where you have sold some of them. It will relist all of the original inventory and you don’t want that if you’ve sold some. Hope that helps Michael.

Hi Vickie! I just had an item not received by the buyer happen to me. The tracking showed that the package was delivered with the date, time and location. They buyer opened a claim against me for it. Ebay reversed my pay out automatically and put a hold on the funds, even after I provided tracking info, they still would not release funds. This went on for 5 days. Then they buyer contacted me and said his neighbor had the package and let ebay know and they finally released my funds 2 days later. So if he would not have "found" his package, they were going to keep my money, it appears. What is up with ebay? They are terrible to their sellers.
@AvanteAvenue10 ай бұрын
ebay had to hold your funds initially until you proved/provided tracking. Even if you did at the time of shipping, you have to provide the tracking number again and any other info as proof of delivery. I also think they waited 5 days (at least) to see if might be delivered at a later time. Thank goodness your buyer was honest enough to say they retrieved it from a neighbor. They could have still claimed "not delivered." With that said, it's hard to say what ebay would do had they still claimed not received, in spite of you providing the tracking number. Ebay should pay you and refund the buyer. Ebay always sides with the buyer first. We are just ebay product fulfillment vendors. Sad to say, but we are not ebay's "customers." There, I said it. It needed to be said. I'm glad the outcome ultimately was in your favor. Thank you Juli!

I don't know if you are familiar with rock star f-l-i-p-p-e-r. He just did an interesting story on chronic returns. Don't use the hyphens and it's all one word. YT dings me if I leave the link. You may find good info there I didn't know about. What happened to you with the knife block has been a recurring theme with the poor grammar. I think it's obvious what's happening there. I hope you will have fewer issues in the future. You're a good picker and packer. Good luck!
