I appreciate your honesty. I agree listening to the song without the music video makes the song better. And don't get me wrong I enjoyed the music video, but the pauses kind of take you out of the song a bit. I also enjoyed seeing V interact with a female in the music video, it's nice to see. I was actually kind of hoping for a little peck or kiss on the cheek, but it's all good. Personally my favorite V song is Inner Child. I feel like it's overlooked by a lot of people but I love it. It's just a very uplifting song and I also feel like it's more personal to V since he co-wrote it. And I get why people love Singularity and V's voice suits it well but it's just not a song I listen to that often probably because of its slower pace. I also feel like there are BTS songs and solo songs here and there that I enjoy more simply because they are by BTS. Permission To Dance is probably one of them. But something I am grateful for with Permission To Dance is their use of sign language in the music video. I've seen some reactions including deaf kids/adults and they loved seeing sign language in the dance. There was even a woman who covered the entire song in sign language.

Great observation of how this song has a similar vibe to SnowFlower w Peakboy! FRI(END)S sounds like it's trying to make a song with that vibe (which suits V very well), but also increase its chances of being played on western radio (all English, common romance theme). I'm fine with that as a strategy for reaching more audiences, and I do like this song. But I always prefer the songs that feel like they were made by Koreans to the ones that feel like they were made by westerners. I've started to recognize the signatures of the different Korean producers who BTS members have worked with the most, and when they're not there something feels missing to me. What I've most enjoyed about V's hiatus-era work is his development of his acting and visual artistry. That's the one area where I think V has been the strongest of all the members in their solo projects.
